I've been here since 2023 admiring the indie developer community and looking forward to becoming one of them.
I've tried to build something and I've always abandoned it because it wasn't perfect.
Today I launched ideas.so and it's not perfect. But I did it.
I don't know if it made a real difference or not but huge thanks to @shipordie_ for pushing me to do it.
Ooh weee second product
I’m genuinely surprised that in the era of AI making it ridiculously easy to build software, nobody has built a decent Slack or Teams alternative.
Almost everyone I know complains about the pricing, the UX, or both. This feels like such an obvious opportunity.

crew member @neural_mind just shipped Ideas 🚢
A product that does the idea research for you.
shipped 1 day away from certain death
feedback from the crew — the captains reviewed it:
"super clean. Put a small label above the sample report like “example dig” or “real output” so cold visitors clock the product one beat faster."
I just submitted Ideas.so for review on Ship or Die 🏴☠️
It took me 29 days to ship in public and submit proof.

Curious to hear from builders who actually shipped something they were not fully ready to ship. What pushed you over the edge?
Was it a deadline? Running out of patience with perfecting it?
What finally made you just go?
Indie devs, were you a dev before this?
Curious how everyone here got into building their own products.
