Updated my GH profile with a list of what I'm doing on llama.cpp 😂
Why? Because sometimes I forgot what I did...
OK so it turns out to be much more complicated than I thought. Basically RE all code paths are too time-consuming.
Next target is a hybrid approach: take some known-working routines from stock fw and slap into ours.
Making great progress this way 💪
Printed the first "Hello world" from my open-source firmware 😁😁
It's reversed (pun intended), but we are close!
I've been using GLM-5.3 for a while now. Quite a good model. Just rooted my car's head unit today 👍
Got RE so far:
- LED and button mappings
- Scanner assembly: lights, sensor, actuator
Successfully passed an end-to-end scan on my open-source firmware

Steady progress so far: 90% scanner code path is discovered
Scaffolding dev infrastructure for printing part (print head and motors controls)
Also developed an emulator along the way. Yes, that's right, the whole printer can be software-emulated

Alright, public my progress so far: open source bootloader for the printer is done!
Now just a loop of RE the stock fw --> reimplement --> flash over USB --> validate, until we have all the functionalities

Just rooted my Tizen OS TV today and came to the same conclusion
With the help of Astra and GLM-5.3
WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners.
Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads.
Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was.
Got a root shell.
then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems.
This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.
My first app is up on Flipper Lab ✌️

Lmao, don't worry. I just RE one of my IoT device and realized that they explicitly skip cert verification in their code 🤷♂️
Fun fact, my firewall blocks them from accessing the internet. Most of my devices are LAN-only
Every old device you own, if it's no longer receiving updates, is now about as secure as a Dior bag in a Paris riot.
Update everything, EVERYTHING, and if it can't or won't update, shut it down.
That old dusty Linux box that's been your memes and music archive for fifteen years? Yeah, that too.
This is the kind of vulnerability that you clean out your tech hoard for. Anything that can connect to the Internet but hasn't had updates since Obama was in office? It all must go, fire sale, now now now.
If you have any device in your kitchen that has the word "smart" in it, if your TV hails from a time when OLEDs were novel tech, if your meat thermometer has an app, it's time to have you a real honest think about the security of your home network.
I always knew IoT was a bad idea.
Migrated my blog away from php / wordpress 2 years ago, best decision ever

Llama.cpp 👀
That rabbit is so cooked
update: I couldn't download llama.cpp directly so I made a creation using wllama by @ngxson to run Qwen3.5-0.8B 4-bit quant on Rabbit R1
