Cannot speak highly enough of my amazing Devon Doctors team right now. The last few weeks have been nothing short of remarkable. 16 hour days and 7 day weeks are now the norm. They’re running on empty but not one of them has grumbled. I’m humbled, proud and grateful for them all
Very humbling to see and hear so many outside clapping, cheering and even setting off fireworks. It’s hugely appreciated. If I have one message it’s PLEASE get us the PPE we need to keep going. Back to work. Stay safe everyone.

During the toughest month we have ever known in IUCS there’s one positive with the news that IR35 changes will be delayed by a year. Common sense prevails. Shame it’s a delay rather than simply scrapping this potentially disastrous decision

Very proud of my 111 team in Devon working so diligently under huge pressure from demand due to CoVid-related call volumes. Really holding our own and putting patients first against a huge surge. A record volume day yesterday, and looks we will beat it today. 🤯

Good to catch up with ED colleagues in @UHP_NHS this morning. Discussed impact of 111 on ED volumes and importance of validation of these dispositions. Also discussed importance of primary care streaming from ED. We will redouble efforts on closer working in this important area
Interesting visit to our @DevonDoctorsLtd Treatment Centre at Derriford today. Was able to speak to GPs and staff from night shift and day shift. Such a vital role the OOH GPs and our support staff have, my thanks and respect to them all for the work they do for our patients
Plenty of food for thought at the West Devon #integratedcare workshop today. What’s clear it that it will take genuine partnership working, a willingness to change, and ringfenced time to get things done. I, for one, am up for it!
As the week wraps up for many businesses my amazing team are preparing for another challenging weekend at the coalface. I couldn't be more proud, impressed or amazed..They are simply phenomenal.
