✨Check out our study✨We use germline genetic and epigenetic data to identify diagnostic biomarkers, prognostic signatures, actionable therapeutic targets and correlates of clinical heterogeneity that will allow for improved clinical management of LFS patients!

@UofT @sickkids #openaccess
Amazing work by @vallisubasri comprehensively investigating the ways in which germline genetic variants and epimutations effect cancer risk in patients with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, using whole genome sequencing and methylation data from 396 LFS patients.

@vallisubasri used this to develop a machine learning model which can predict cancer risk in patients with Li Fraumeni Syndrome.

Our study is out today in @NatureComms ! We analyzed cancer genomes from patients with Li-Fraumeni syndrome and found early copy number gain of the mutant allele of TP53 to be a characteristic feature of these tumours. nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
Amazing to watch this study grow over the past 7+ years. Congrats to the entire KiCS program!

Who else thinks that instead of wasting millions of tax dollars on private, for-profit agencies to provide hospitals with temporary nurses...the Ontario government should just provide ALL nurses with proper wages, permanent jobs & benefits? ✋🏾
Congrats @cd_steele and @NischalanP ! Glad to have made a small contribution to this foundational work!
We have expanded our previous method of copy number signatures developed in sarcomas to identify a reference set of pan-cancer copy number signatures. These are available on @cosmic_sanger

Today we celebrate a MAJOR milestone achieved by our MD/PhD students (@uoftmedicine @UofTMDprogram)! They have completed 8 yrs of training and are moving onto residency! Below is a thread sharing their wisdom from their time in the MD/PhD program 👩🏾🎓👩🏾🔬👩🏾⚕️
Congrats @andygxzeng! Amazing study characterizing and stratifying the stem cell hierarchy in >1000 AML patients into 4 major classes, with distinct biology, clinical outcomes and drug sensitivity @uoftmdphd
Super excited to share that our study on cellular hierarchies in acute myeloid leukemia has been released today in @NatureMedicine!

Incredibly thankful for the opportunity to train in Internal Medicine at UofT! Grateful for my 8 years @uoftmdphd and over the moon to be continuing my training here. I cannot thank enough all the amazing people who have supported me through this process. Excited to get to work!
My Dad and his friend just released their new book on life in Paris in the 70s, and its already got great reviews! "Both authors skillfully build on each other’s recollections to bring a vanished world to vibrant life" @KirkusReviews
