Over the weekend, a LIVES paramedic supported a @EMASNHSTrust crew with a complex end-of-life patient. They administered medication to ease symptoms, and arranged follow up care from community nursing teams, which allowed the patient to stay at home comfortably 💛 #LIVES

Hi just a reminder that a standard adult BVM holds around 1500 mL of air. The average adult requires no more than 500 mL per breath. This means you never really need to squeeze more than 1/3 of the bag volume. I cannot stress this enough. Getting this right literally saves lives.

Some hospitals running out of oxygen around the country - good day to revisit this ⬇️

Oxygen flow is read from the centre of the ball on the flowmeter (Fig 1 = 15LPM). If you open the valve fully and the ball is higher (Fig 2) the flow of oxygen can be in excess of 45LPM 😳 Keep your eye on the ⚽️ to avoid wasting O2!
