#1 5A @PRRamsFootball (2-0) vs. #1 6A @PCC_FOOTBALL (2-0) at U.S. Steel Community Field. Pine-Richland is lead by @Coach_LeDonne-Jon Ledonne and has been putting up points in a hurry to start the season, averaging 53.5 points per game while allowing 19.0. QB @KingOobi - Aaron Strader has been at the center of the Rams’ offense, leading the team with 129 rushing yards per game while also throwing for 89 yards per game. With Strader’s ability to make plays with his legs, Central Catholic will have to keep him contained. The Rams also have plenty of playmakers around Strader. @KhalilTaylor08 - Khalil Taylor leads Pine-Richland with two total touchdowns, while @Chasehar11- Chase Harrer has been one of Strader’s top receiving targets, averaging 25 receiving yards per game. Taylor’s explosiveness gives the Rams another player Central Catholic can’t afford to lose track of. Pine-Richland’s defense will have its hands full as well. Disere Green-Lindsay is averaging 10 tackles per game and has been one of the Rams’ most active defenders. @ColtenAndr10-Colton Andrighetti has already recorded a sack and will be looking to create pressure up front, while @nicoa_PR-Nico Aiello has three interceptions through the first two games and could be a major factor against Central Catholic’s passing attack. Central Catholic is lead by @CoachLehmeier- Ryan Lehmeier and comes into the game with plenty of confidence of its own. The Vikings opened the season with a 45-30 victory over New Jersey powerhouse Bergen Catholic before following it up with a 45-0 shutout of Woodland Hills. The Vikings are averaging 45 points per game and have been particularly effective running the football. QB @OwenHerrick12-Owen Herrick returns to lead the Central Catholic offense after throwing for 2,318 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore. Herrick has already shown that he can make big plays in this matchup, and he will have several weapons around him. @ChrysBlackjr1-Chrys Black Jr. is averaging 147 rushing yards per game and has been one of the Vikings’ most explosive players, while also contributing on defense at safety. @RomanT2027-Roman Thompson is another name Pine-Richland fans will want to keep an eye on. Thompson was a major part of Central Catholic’s success last season and gives the Vikings another physical option in the running game. His ability to run between the tackles and make plays at linebacker makes him one of the most important two-way players on the field. Central Catholic also has plenty of talent on the outside. @ZacharyGleason_ - Zachary Gleason has emerged as a reliable option in the passing game, while senior @max_roman5-Max Roman gives Herrick another big-play target. The Vikings will also rely on @Jimmy_Kalis-Jimmy Kalis and @jon_sassic-Jon Sassic to control things up front and give Herrick time to work against a talented Pine-Richland defense. For Pine-Richland, the key will be whether Strader and the Rams’ offense can continue its early-season production against a Central Catholic defense that has already shown it can take over a game. For the Vikings, containing Strader and keeping Pine-Richland’s playmakers from creating explosive plays will be a major priority. Both teams are 2-0. Both are ranked #1 in their respective classifications. And both have championship expectations. We will be on hand to bring you all the action Friday night.
