Al Jazeera Fault Lines’ Josh Rushing explains that the U.S. legal framework for strikes on suspected drug boats does not even require drugs to be aboard the vessel, according to lawmakers who reviewed the classified criteria.
Speaking on Breaking Points about his new documentary, Killing at Sea, Rushing contrasted the strikes with Trump’s pardon of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who had been serving 45 years after a U.S. jury convicted him in a conspiracy that trafficked more than 400 tons of cocaine into the U.S.
