Forty years ago I didn’t know anyone at ESPN’s personal opinion on politics. Hell, I didn’t even know their personal opinions of the athletes they covered. And I had no idea what a beautiful thing that was.

Elon Musk was called a racist on camera by the editor-in-chief of The Economist. An accusation that serious should have come with proof. Hers came from no one. Zanny Minton Beddoes: “People say that you’re a racist.” People say. No evidence. No incident. No source. No name. “People say” removes the journalist’s fingerprints from the accusation. Nothing to verify. No one to hold accountable. A label laundered through a question so it can never be traced back to a fact. Musk: “My partner is half Indian. I have four children with her. One of them was named after a famous Indian physicist. If you look at the people employed at my companies, we have senior executives of all races.” The accusation cost nothing to make. The defense required a man to put his own family on the table. Then she moved on. No pause. Not one word of his answer made it into the next question. Beddoes: “Are you anti-Muslim?” The first accusation was still on the ground. The next was already in the air. Musk: “I’m against people coming to a country with antithetical views. I’m against rape and murder. I’m against the imposition of rules and laws that are contrary to what we’ve come to accept in the West.” He answered with positions no functioning society disputes. The only way to make them sound like bigotry was to attach a religion to the people he was describing. That isn’t journalism. It’s a trap where the question does the accusing and the answer does the rest. Musk: “I think it’s a crying shame that the traditional media, like you, don’t recognize this.” To her face. To the editor-in-chief of one of the most powerful publications on Earth. When a man has to prove he isn’t a racist by naming his own children, then defend himself for opposing rape and murder, the labels have stopped describing the world. They’ve started building one. The accusation was never meant to be true. It was meant to be answered. Because the moment you’re defending yourself against a label, the label has already done its work. And when no answer can acquit you, you were never being accused. You were being sentenced. The presumption of innocence was never a description of how people think. It was a wall built against it. Four centuries putting it up. A decade taking it down. Musk didn’t accept the frame. He answered with facts and let the accusations collapse on contact, then told the person holding the microphone that she was the problem. The weapon only works on people who flinch. He didn’t. And the accusation that came from no one finally had a name on it. Hers.

This speech from Zohran Mamdani on America’s 250th changed my politics. I’ve never seen a more pompous individual whose life has been void of any sacrifice or hard work confidently lecture as if people like him hold the key to human prosperity. Here’s a guy who had never held a job until he found the angle to satisfy his thirst for attention through politics at age 30, sit behind George Washington’s desk and give us a lecture on what is supposed to be a day of celebration. Instead of celebrating what this country built, prosperity and human rights that spread across the globe from basically nothing, he turns the moment into a lecture about how America is this flawed project desperately in need of topdown change from useless academics and politicians who’ve never built anything of value for anybody. As I get older, I have started wrestling with my own ridiculous and undeserved comforts, and the massive sacrifices of generations that made them possible. We should be expressing sheer gratitude for the families who crossed this country in covered wagons chasing a future, for the young men who died in muddy fields and frozen trenches defending it. At some point we let the children forget about this, and it's going to be a tragedy. Our ancestors didn’t sacrifice so we could sit around demanding more redistribution while building nothing of value ourselves and living in opulence kings couldn't have dreamed of. They built something exceptional through risk, and relentless work. Watching someone like Mamdani use the 250th as an opportunity to lecture us about what’s wrong with America, it just flips a switch for me. I’m done with the ingratitude. We need to defend America from those that leech off it's greatness and attempt to redefine it.

There have been 4 major revolutions in the past 250 years: American, French, Russian, and Chinese. Only one led to individual rights and prosperity. The others led to mass death and tyranny. The US revolution was unique because it said two things: 1. Our rights come from God not from the govt. 2. Humans are power -hungry so we need to limit govt power. So the next time someone attacks the nation of one revolution that succeeded and recycles the the idea of those that miserably failed, you can ask them: are you ignorant, or malicious?

Have you ever heard the Declaration of Independence read out loud? You should. It’s the greatest break-up letter ever written. At just 33 years old, Thomas Jefferson, with cold moral clarity, told the British government to pound sand: “Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness], it is the Right of the People to alter or to ABOLISH it.” The power of that line isn’t just what it says. It’s how it’s said. Jefferson wasn’t writing from a place of outrage. He was transmitting conviction—moral clarity delivered from a steady frame of mind. It’s said Jefferson revised the Declaration of Independence with the help of Franklin and Adams dozens of times before it was finalized. And that deliberate, cutting language, paired with emotional steadiness, is precisely why the words still land 250 years later. Today, we’re blessed to be the inheritors of the great nation those steady hands wrote into existence. Happy Birthday, America. 🇺🇸

Happy 96th birthday to Professor Thomas Sowell, one of the greatest thinkers of our time and the undisputed king of the epigram! In his honor, here are twenty of his most famous quotes: 1. “Nearly a hundred years of the supposed ‘legacy of slavery’ found most black children being raised in two-parent families in 1960. But thirty years after the liberal welfare state found the great majority of black children being raised by a single parent. The murder rate among blacks in 1960 was one-half of what it became 20 years later, after a legacy of liberals’ law enforcement policies.” (A Legacy of Liberalism) 2. “Public housing projects in the first half of the 20th century were clean, safe places, where people slept outside on hot summer nights, when they were too poor to afford air conditioning. That was before admissions standards for public housing projects were lowered or abandoned, in the euphoria of liberal non-judgmental notions. And it was before the toxic message of victimhood was spread by liberals. We all know what hell holes public housing has become in our times.” (A Legacy of Liberalism) 3. “The blacks in the West Indies had all sorts of experiences growing their food, selling the surplus in the market, and being responsible for budgeting what they had. Black slaves in the United States were deliberately kept from having that. Dependence was seen as the key to holding the slaves down. Ironically, that same principle comes up in the welfare state 100 years later.” 4. “If we wanted to be serious about evidence, we might compare where blacks stood a hundred years after the end of slavery with where they stood after 30 years of the liberal welfare state. Despite the grand myth that black economic progress began or accelerated with the passage of the civil rights laws and ‘war on poverty’ programs of the 1960s, the cold fact is that the poverty rate among blacks fell from 87 percent in 1940 to 47 percent by 1960. This was before any of those programs began.” (A Legacy of Liberalism) 5. “What the welfare system and other kinds of governmental programs are doing is paying people to fail. Insofar as they fail, they receive the money. In so far as they succeed, even to a moderate extent, the money is taken away.” (Free to Choose, 1980) 6. “The way the [welfare] programs are organized, poor people are only paid to do things that are counter-productive, such as breaking up their families, such as not earning above a certain level of income.” 7. “The welfare state is the oldest con game in the world. First you take people’s money away quietly, and then you give some of it back to them flamboyantly.” 8. “Not since the days of slavery have there been so many people who feel entitled to what other people have produced as there are in the modern welfare state, whether in Western Europe or on this side of the Atlantic.” 9. “The more people who are dependent on government handouts, the more votes the left can depend on for an ever-expanding welfare state. Although the big word on the left is ‘compassion,’ the big agenda on the left is dependency.” 10. “Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good. In area after area, crime, education, housing, race relations, the situation has gotten worse after the bright new theories were put into operation. The amazing thing is that this history of failure and disaster has neither discouraged the social engineers nor discredited them.” (Is Reality Optional?) 11. “The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that they do not work. Therefore, we should not be surprised to find the left concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to survive.” 12. “Socialism is a wonderful idea. It is only as a reality that it has been disastrous. Among people of every race, color, and creed, all around the world, socialism has led to hunger in countries that used to have surplus food to export.” 13. “As long as human beings are imperfect, there will always be arguments for extending the power of government to deal with these imperfections. The only logical stopping place is totalitarianism, unless we realize that tolerating imperfections is the price of freedom.” (Ever Wonder Why?) 14. “The fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When the people want the impossible, only liars can satisfy.” 15. “It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” 16. “Life in general has never been even close to fair, so the pretense that the government can make it fair is a valuable and inexhaustible asset to politicians who want to expand government.” 17. “It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication, and a government bureaucracy to administer it.” (Knowledge and Decisions) 18. “I have never understood why it is ‘greed’ to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else’s money.” 19. “Racism is not dead, but it is on life support, kept alive by politicians, race hustlers and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as ‘racists.’” 20. “The old adage about giving a man a fish versus teaching him how to fish has been updated by a reader: Give a man a fish, and he will ask for tartar sauce and French fries! Moreover, some politician who wants his vote will declare all these things to be among his ‘basic rights.’”

There is a reason history matters. Lenin didn’t take over Russia overnight. He first took over his party. He energized young activists. He attacked moderates in his own movement as sellouts. He demanded ideological purity. He promised free everything, demonized business, divided society into oppressors and oppressed, and insisted the existing system was beyond reform, it had to be fundamentally transformed. Sound familiar? Today, @ZohranKMamdani and the @DemSocialists aren’t trying to win over the Democratic Party, they’re trying to replace it. Primary by primary, incumbent by incumbent, they’re pulling the party further toward government control, wealth redistribution, and anti-capitalist policies. History doesn’t repeat itself exactly, but it often rhymes. Every New Yorker who believes in free enterprise, public safety, fiscal responsibility, and the American Dream should be paying attention. Political movements don’t transform institutions overnight. They do it one election at a time.

Hey @TheView, i’m challenging you to bring me onto your show. You spit nothing but falsehoods and misinformation in this entire clip. You might be “following this case now”. I’ve been reporting and investigating this case for over a year. FACT CHECK: A “jury of your peers” does NOT mean the jurors have to be the same race as the defendant. You confidently claimed that because there wasn’t someone the same color as the defendant on the jury, it wasn’t a jury of his peers. That is 100% false. A jury of your peers means a jury selected from the community and judged by fellow citizens. It does NOT mean every juror has to match the defendant’s race, gender, religion, age, or background. If that were true, every defendant would be entitled to a jury custom-built to mirror their demographics. That’s not how the legal system works. The Constitution requires that juries be selected from a fair cross-section of the community. It does NOT require that the final jury contain members of any particular race. The idea that people can only fairly judge someone if they share the same skin color is not only legally wrong, it’s an incredibly racist way of viewing the justice system. Also, Karmelo was NOT 130 lbs. But clearly you don’t get your info from anything other than racist social media influencers instead of the documented FACTS. And the AUDACITY to say “he was the only black kid under the tent”?! A large portion of the witnesses who were UNDER THE TENT who TESTIFIED AGAINST KARMELO were BLACK! I am FLABBERGASTED by the outright lies you just spewed!

“In the academic world, diversity means black leftists, white leftists, female leftists, and Hispanic leftists. Demographic diversity conceals ideological conformity.” - Thomas Sowell Peter Thiel made the same diagnosis in 1996. He watched universities celebrate racial and gender diversity while systematically stamping out diversity of thought. His point was simple. A campus full of people who look different but think alike is not diverse, it’s just ideological monopoly wearing a costume. Sowell and Thiel were describing the same phenomenon from different angles. Multiculturalism and “diversity” were never the end goal. They were the instrument. The real objective has always been the capture of institutions, universities, corporations, government, culture, and the enforcement of one narrow worldview. Demographic checkboxes were the most effective tool available to achieve that. Once the institutions were staffed and policed by people who already agreed on the fundamentals, dissent became “hate,” disagreement became “harm,” and the old liberal commitment to open inquiry quietly died. The diversity bureaucracy eventually succeeded at what it was actually designed to do. So “the next time some academics tell you how important ‘diversity’ is, ask how many Republicans there are in their sociology department.” - Thomas Sowell
