Here is the side view of the CT scan I posted last week. From this viewpoint you can easily see the vias connecting the layers of the rigid-flex PCB.
I'm working on a write-up of the scan and will post it soon. The porosity in the solder joints is also interesting to see.
I've been noticing the water bill is consistently high and suspected a leak - found a slow one in the flush valve of the toilet, and decided to hook up an ESP32 and CC1101 to monitor this going forward - turns out the meter already suspected a leak.
No word from the utility on this though :/

Going on the internet is a bad idea.

Accidentally figured out a candidate lied to me. Then the technical presentation happened and it was clear as day they had no clue about the thing they apparently "built."
Bad part was that on first presentation to me, my director, and peers the candidate came across as extremely competent. If we had not done the technical test, they would have passed.
Say what you want about take-home tasks, but it's extremely valuable to tease out time management skills, if the candidate can back up their purported skillset (made a big API mistake, but reported years of experience), and honesty (a very explicit lie in this case)
Fortunately another candidate impressed, was honest, and will be getting an offer letter today!
Me:
Me: Hey Meo, I'd like to cancel this one line I specified in the online form.
Meo: all good!
Meo mails me a physical letter stating my _entire_ service (phone lines + fibre) is being cancelled with a nice €222 penalty that I discover in my mailbox today...
I've been on the phone 30mins trying to reverse this.

I designed an analog mixed-signal radio chip with an AI agent: about 700 prompts in a week, and it's now submitted for tapeout.
Here's how it went at each step of the design, the times it was confidently wrong, and how I caught them.

I’m hoping my network can help here - I’m hiring! Looking for an experienced Senior TAM that’s solid on the technical front and capable in front of customers.
Happy to chat to anyone that’s interested. Role is remote, but US-based.

Dumbing it down + being enthusiastic about learning opportunities + praise seems to be the recipe.
I think the Android TV capture is what scared it off.
This reminded me to cancel my invoicing software subscription. I don’t use any of the online/tracking features anyway, so might as well just generate the PDF directly.
It’s not that I’m against giving money to someone, it made my life easier when I sent 5 invoices a month, but it’s down to a handful per year.
You can craft an invoicing app in 10 mins now.
Here it is in use.
I jumped on the bandwagon, and added a little feature!
A BLE "catprinter" for the kids' pocket money receipts, and the shopping list.
It also runs a screensaver that pulls from my Artwork project that uses public museum images, controls Sonos over Home Assistant, and let's the family know when I'm on a call.

I have discovered $50 amazon photo frames to be the PERFECT home display screen
They can be rooted, updated to run a modern browser, have WiFi and can be powered from USB
1280×800 resolution with a nice touch screen
I detailed how to hack these yourself in my latest video

Back in 2019 when the Cybertruck launched I had just joined Particle and one of my new colleagues was ex-Tesla, and the cracked windows caused a few crunge moments.
Different story this time!
(This is a cool stunt, but I have my doubts about any of this making it to production)
