The PlanetScale MCP is really really good...
Week one, and already hunting p99's. All I did is pointing the @PlanetScale MCP to our codebase and fixing some of the outliers. It's extremely easy with Insights.

Insights is my fav @PlanetScale feature. Click into any query to see:
- AI generated query summary
- query latency
- total time the query has run
- percentage of queries that used an index
- notable instances of the query (>10k rows returned or took longer than 1s)

The @planetscale team is absolutely cracked 🐐
Today we needed to restore a 270GB backup that was 12 hours past our retention window.
I was 99.999% sure we were S.O.L.
Posted in Slack → their infra team jumped in right away.
Some insane DB sorcery later…the backup was restored in under an hour.
Mind you, this was a classic case of user error (me not defining a longer retention period).
And they still saved it.
If this is not your sign to go with PlanetScale for your primary DB provider, I don't know what is 👏
