In 1992 (B.E. 2535), the Royal Barge Suphannahong was honoured with the World Ship Trust Maritime Heritage Award by the World Ship Trust of the United Kingdom. On 4 June 1992, representatives of the World Ship Trust were granted a royal audience to present the award medal to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (King Rama IX).
