House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries tried to ramp up pressure on Florida Republicans over their redistricting push, making it clear he wants a national fight over the issue.
But Gov. Ron DeSantis didn’t respond with caution or retreat. He leaned straight into it.
“Please, be my guest! I will pay for you to come down to Florida and campaign.”
That’s not just a response. That’s a challenge.
Instead of backing off, DeSantis is basically telling them to bring the fight directly to Florida and test their message with voters on the ground.
