What are capitals for anymore?
They are of no use to anyone but themselves, in any country. They will not do anything useful or protect anything, including the borders, it seems.

Germany tries to protect many neighborhoods from becoming fancy luxury areas.
This manifests in situations like this: a guy who pays €950 rent built a shower for himself with his own money in a rental property.
The state declared it’s too luxurious because now he has a shower and a bathtub. This is apparently too luxurious and would improve the rental property too much, which could lead to the neighborhood becoming too expensive.
So the German state called in contractors to rip it out. And it’s gone.
