In Parklands, contractors are busy at work despite court orders halting further construction. Some of the developers are alleged to be prominent politicians using their positions to circumvent the law.
According to the Parklands Residents Association, Hon Umulkher Mohammed has continued construction works at her school, Baitul Hikma School, in contravention of stop orders issued by the court. The property is also said to be under armed police protection.
On another site, the Governor of Mandera has blatantly disregarded court orders to cease putting up a multi-storey project on land allegedly grabbed from North Highridge School.

If you listen to Sifuna talk, you might think Kenya is a failed country like Somalia or a dictatorship like Eritrea. In my whole life, I've never heard his mentor, Raila, talk about Kenya in such a negative, ugly, and pessimistic tone. The guy is beyond empty.
Kibaki and Uhuru did so much to kill the economies of Western and Nyanza. They completely destroyed the sugar industry in Western and the Tobacco industry in Nyanza while giving hundred of Billions in grants to coffee and tea farmers in their region.
Sakaja just shared a list of 256 skyscrapers being constructed in Nairobi without permits. He blames the Judiciary for providing cover and protection to the developers.
Enforcement action and arrests were made severally by the county officials and most recently in July after failing to comply with the enforcement order below. However the suspects were released on a 50k bail at Kamukunji police on the very same day.
Prosecution of the same was also denied. We have repeatedly asked for the resumption of the power to prosecute such violations of such county and county related laws after this was taken away from County governments in 2024 (one such letter to the office of the DPP is attached).
Meanwhile, several such cases have either been rejected by prosecutors (who are independent of the County), dismissed by the justice system or have had minimal fines imposed. Fining a developer 50k for an illegal development with hundreds of millions without orders to stop and remove the offensive development is completely unreasonable. I raised this in the Senate a fortnight ago and we shall keep pushing for a review of this position.
All of these instances, where enforcement action has been curtailed, blocked or interfered with, will be published to the public.

I think a cheaper and safer alternative could be increasing the number of daily SGR trains from Mombasa to Nairobi to 5 and making the tickets cheaper, like 700 bob. Can be achieved by selling SGR tax-free fuel. Also increase the trains speed and cut travel time by 1 hour.
