Albany must pass #GoodCause NOW. It's what NY needs to grant every tenant protections against unjust evictions and unreasonable rent hikes

The data proves it: #GoodCause - as it's been on the books for 50 years in NJ - did not have a negative impact on housing construction.
“In fact, the two are mutually reinforcing."
It's time for New York to pass Good Cause!

The landlord arguments makes you wonder how Germany manages to house anyone, given the incredibly strict rent laws over there. #rentstabilization

Loft tenants deserve to be protected and have recourse when their landlord fails to make urgent repairs or provide essential services.
Thanks to Governor Hochul for supporting and signing our bill to give loft tenants access to housing court.

NEW: I'm introducing legislation w/ @BrianKavanaghNY to enact a statewide moratorium on evictions and foreclosures during the #coronaviruspandemic and future emergency declarations.
No one should ever be put at risk & forced to look for shelter during a public health emergency.

We just sent this letter signed by 24+ NY State Senators urging the courts to issue a moratorium on evictions immediately.
This is a crucial step to protect vulnerable New Yorkers from choosing between protecting their health & defending their homes during this state of emergency

Every day in New York, 100 families are evicted from their homes.
All tenants deserve to live without constant fear of eviction. They deserve protection from huge rent hikes. That's why we're fighting to pass Good Cause eviction bill this year.

"It's not right that you could be making $15 an hour and not be ensured a lawyer in housing court" - that's why @NYCCouncil must pass #intro1104 now!

1) #NoTowersNoCompromise! We're fighting to FULLY stop the proposed nightmare luxury towers in the 2 bridges area of Chinatown/LES (where the median annual income is $30k) because working-class communities that have lived there for generations are already hanging by a thread...>

1) As we fight to stop the 2 Bridges towers, pass the FULL Chinatown Working Group Plan and prevent the further destruction of Chinatown/LES, we stand in solidarity and ANGER w/ the MANY diverse working-class and immigrant communities facing City-sponsored displacement in NYC...>
