recently i learned there are entire online communities dedicated to archiving those patterns inside of envelopes that exist to obscure the information, so when you hold it up to light, you can't read the contents. people even make art out of it (creds in alt text)
#ArtnetNews: One woman made the discovery of a lifetime recently, unearthing a lost painting by American modernist Georgia O’Keeffe in her elderly aunt’s East Village closet. Now the work, Near Abiquiu, New Mexico I (1930), is heading to auction during Christie’s 20th Century Evening Sale on November 17 in New York. It’s expected to fetch around $3 million.

#ArtnetNews: Two months in, the art season in New York’s galleries has felt pretty tepid and low-stakes. Yes, there have been thrilling moments—Michael E. Smith’s enigmatic objects at Maxwell Graham, Jordan Wolfson’s dangerous japes at Gagosian—but the prevailing mood has been conservative, particularly when it comes to new art.
