In observation of the International Day of Political Prisoners, we are gathering today evening (5PM ET) at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. to honor political prisoners all over the world. At this event, I will have the opportunity to read out loud the names of our detained comrades in Uganda, including those who have been recently released.
Special thanks to the October 30 Coalition and the National Endowment for Democracy who have facilitated this to ensure that the world never forgets about those unjustly persecuted for their political opinion.

We were at the Atlantic Council headquarters in Washington, DC, yesterday, to participate in the very first Global Leadership Forum. This forum gathers leaders from across the world to speak on the challenges they face in their work.
During my session, I focused on the deteriorating state of human rights and democracy in Uganda. I also shared thoughts on how global partners -- especially the United States -- are contributing to this state of affairs, and what they need to do different.

The issue with having a mad man on the village is that you don't have to first disturb his peace for him to stone you. And it doesn't matter who you are, he can stone anybody.
So, ultimately, either the village collectively works on the mad man or it lets him aggress the villagers collectively.
The way you're treating that person you don't love is the same treatment you're receiving from the one you love.
