It’s #LoveYourPetDay, & one special way to show your love for them (cats too 😁) is to include them in your emergency evacuation plan.
Today we celebrate the life of a great man.
I’ve had the privilege of working with outstanding people from Brea & Fullerton FDs & @GardenGroveFire over the last two weeks to prepare a befitting celebration of life for Fire Chief Tom Schultz. Today’s the day.

It’s official! Fire & police communications centers throughout #OrangeCounty can now receive texts to 9-1-1.
We still encourage everyone to call 9-1-1 if you have an emergency rather than text if you can. @GardenGroveFire @GardenGrovePD @MetroNetFire

Remember to pack for all members of your household including pets.
What are the items that you can’t go without?
🔺 Glasses
🔺 Medication
🔺 💵 (ATMs may not work if power is out)
🔺 Warm clothes (pack that jacket you haven’t worn in a while)
Look online for extensive lists.

@ a recent 🔥, we let residents back in for a few minutes to grab essentials because they were forced to evacuate due to their 🏡 being red tagged. As I watched, I saw ☝🏼person carry a 📺 out. It struck me as odd, but to each their own.
It made me ask, “How many have go-bags?”

#ImUnsureHowToPutThis, but improvising during a disaster is not a good plan. Have the following:
🔺 Evacuation plan
🔺 Go-bag with essential items
🔺 Reunification plan
🔺 Out of state contact info

Early this morning, a house fire in East St. Paul killed a man. Firefighters were able to save five people, including young kids. A neighbor told me, if firefighters would have arrived even five minutes after they did, those kids would have probably died. More on @WCCO at 10:30.

What do you give the person that has everything or really hard to shop for during #Christmas?
If you’re still out there & struggling, here’s a thought. Make a creative coupon good for monthly #smokealarm checks. @GardenGroveFire @LAFDtalk @sffdpio @auburnmassfire @AlamedaCoFire
