The Kenya government is putting more than 15 million academic records on Avalanche. 🔺
The Kenya National Examinations Council recently launched a nationwide E-certification system that uses @avax to secure and verify academic credentials dating all the way back to 1989.
More than 15 million historical and current records have already been anchored through the initial rollout, with the system expected to expand to roughly 35 million records as more examination categories come online.
For students, universities, employers and government institutions, this changes something that used to be painfully slow.
Academic verification in Kenya could take around a month for individual requests, while large bulk requests could stretch to six months. The new system makes credentials digitally verifiable in minutes or even seconds depending on the process, while creating tamper evident proof tied back to KNEC's official records.
The first major cohort includes nearly 1 million students from the 2025 KCSE examinations, with records far-back from 1989 through 2025 already available through the platform.

🔺 South Korea unveiled new rules for bringing its $5T+ stock market onchain beginning February 2027, with the Korea Securities Depository included in the infrastructure supporting tokenized securities and already building connectivity on Avalanche.
🔺 Goldman Sachs is bringing access to its roughly $100B flagship Treasury fund to Avalanche through Lynq, a private permissioned Avalanche L1 used by 30+ institutional digital asset firms including B2C2, Wintermute, Galaxy, FalconX and Fireblocks.

Kenya Mini Hack 2026 bounty winners!
Across three cohorts, @AvaxTeam1 Mini Hack brought 525 developers into the @avax ecosystem and put 20 teams into incubation. Twelve teams pitched at Pitch Perfect in September, and seven took home bounties.
Meet the projects coming out of Africa 👇
Payments cohort, Business Ops track
1st place, $450: Lisanga Connect (formerly Kuzana Connect).
An AI-powered platform matching founders with investors, lenders and service providers. Kuzana Connect is the first community within the wider Lisanga ecosystem.
2nd place, $250: TrendJack Hunter. Finds fresh trends, checks the evidence behind them, and helps founders, investors and creators turn them into insight and content.
Kuzana Bounty: Jua. An institutional knowledge system where every answer comes with its source.
Gaming cohort
1st place, $450: Aura Health. Gamified wellness habits with an AI health coach and on-chain rewards.
2nd place, $250: Ubu Tangaza. Loyalty for retail shops and SMEs.
Agentic AI cohort
1st place, $450: Guidemate. A marketplace connecting travellers with local guides for authentic in-person and livestreamed experiences.
2nd place, $250: G-Rails. Financial infrastructure for autonomous AI agents, connecting mobile money, on-chain payments, cards and banks.
That is $2,100 in track prizes, plus the Kuzana Bounty totaling to $2565.
The prize is the easy part. These founders now head into the Traction Clinic, our four week, in-person program in Nairobi starting in November, where the work moves from demo to real users, real revenue and live products on Avalanche.
