𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗡 During Conventional Arms Week in New York, alongside the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, the @ATTSecretariat engaged with key partners to strengthen cooperation and advance the Treaty’s implementation. Our engagements included: 🤝 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 (𝗨𝗡𝗢𝗗𝗔) to exchange views on areas of common interest and opportunities to strengthen coordination on issues related to transparency and reporting, international assistance, and synergies with other conventional arms instruments. 🌍 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗡 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, highlighting the importance of the Voluntary Trust Fund as a mechanism to strengthen regional cooperation, capacity-building and partnerships in support of ATT implementation. 🇬🇧𝗔𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, hosted by the Presidency of the Thirteenth Conference of States Parties to the ATT (CSP13), which provided an opportunity for delegates to exchange views on the development of the ATT’s five-year strategy, including the roles and responsibilities of the Treaty’s working group Chairs and how their expertise and perspectives can contribute to shaping the Strategy. These engagements underscored the importance of dialogue, coordination and inclusive participation in strengthening the Treaty and advancing its implementation and universalization.
