bro slowly getting the hang of things Indians: F1 --> OPT --> H1 --> I-140 approved -->keep renewing H1 --> 20 years later --> green card Others: F1 --> OPT --> I-140 approved --> green card --> 5 years later --> citizens --> post on X that 70% H1B goes to Indians
Correction: The H1 visa pre-1990 INA bill were not 'dual intent'. The H-1B and L-1 visas were made into dual intent visas in 1990, not later - I mistakenly claimed they were changed in 2003 to this class. The F-1 visa is still not a dual intent visa, nor is the J-1 (exchange visa). Interestingly the 0-1 (extraordinary talent) isn't either explicitly, congress never made it one. But our govt treats it as a dual intent visa anyway. Dual intent means one can apply for permanent immigrant status - Green Card - while on the temporary visa. The intent of my post remains. Why are these visas called 'temporary' when they are endlessly extended while a Green Card application is in process? They function as pathways to permanent immigration. Be Clear: Just because temporary visa is granted and the immigrant can 'intent' to immigrate permanently, they have no reason to expect to be able to immigrate. Yet to hear them talk, the idea that all of them cannot do so is incredibly unfair. The idea of how any of this effects American workers never enters into the picture. It makes no difference to an American citizen who's been replaced by a foreign worker what visa their replacement has been issued. H-1B, L-1, J-1, O-1, Green Card - it's all the same to the American worker.

the rant is always about cancelling "work visas", never about visas/greencards based on family, diversity etc. "work" visas/greencards are a minority vis-a-vis total legal immigration, about 10-15% or so "work" visas overwhelmingly go to those with higher education, salary, low welfare, low crime. while other visas/greencards go to those who are paid way lower, overwhelmingly use welfare and commit crimes at highe rate so what visa/greencard type should actually be cancelled to "avoid becoming another 3rd world country" ?
We need to cancel the H1B and other work visa scams if we want to avoid becoming another 3rd world country. We need a 95% reduction in international student visas. There is zero high skilled labor shortage in the USA.

imagine going to the DMV at 8am you wait for your turn its 9am, 1 hour, and the queue has barely move you wait some more its 10am, you are starting to get impatient line's not moving at all now now it's 12pm, still very little movement now you are starting to question your life choices should you go back and come another day, or stay? you have already invested 4 hours into this maybe you should stay a little longer? clock strikes 3pm, you are really getting mad now another bloke strolls in at 3:15pm he gets immediate service out by 3:25pm you are still there at the DMV and its 4:53pm
It is already absurd that someone comes to the US 20 years after an Indian came to the US, and gets a greencard faster than that Indian

The USA is the only democratic country in the world where you may have to live as a lifetime indentured worker, with no citizenship granted based on years of residency.

While the woke right sh!ts on 85k per year H1Bs, there is a greencard category that no one talks about. About half a million greencards each year. No labor market test. Folks can directly go on welfare. And it is uncapped, meaning technically there is no limit to how many greencards can be given each year.

"H1B is a sliver of a sliver" When even @FoxNews is completely fed up of all H1B lies made up by groypers like @vrilliumlive and perpetuated online for purely political benefit by the likes of @RonDeSantis @jamesfishback and @CaseyPutsch

Even Trump is German... We’re the American Indians the colonizers found, when they got here. They used a pen to write my people out of history. They used skin folk to spin another story. 🖕🏾 American Indian by Blood 🩸 , not Native American by club

This is atrocious. These law-abiding H-1B holders were following the rules to renew their visas. They’re now trapped abroad, separated from their families, and unsure if they’ll be able to work. The U.S. is their home. Cruelty for the sake of it.
Indian H-1B visa holders who traveled back to India this month to renew their American work permits are now stranded after their appointments were abruptly canceled and rescheduled for months later, according to immigration lawyers. wapo.st/4pUpcIc

The problem is that it was never discussed in the Indian Parliament that Indians are kept as indentured in the USA solely because they were born in India. Can we all make an effort to ensure that at least one major Indian politician holds a press conference?

The Indians are in many ways the new Jews, hated for their success rather than their perceived failings. Indians take away all the nativist excuses: legal, skilled, productive, law-abiding, family-oriented, English speakers.
America does not need more visas for people from India. Perhaps no form of legal immigration has so displaced American workers as those from India. Enough already. We’re full. Let’s finally put our own people first.

Biggest H1B scam: bring an Indian worker on H1B and get lifetime indentured labor due to birth country. U.S. laws ironically discriminate on national origin, giving companies reason to favor Indians on H1B.

The USA fills 70% of its STEM needs with talent from India, the birth country of 20% of the world's population, but traps them in a system of lifetime indentured servitude. Congress keeps debating while both citizens and immigrants suffer.
🔎🔎Contrast these pictures. ❔ How could we need any new/more foreign working visas approved in tech when we've had over 1 million layoffs in tech over the past 5 years and face 170k more this year? 🤪 In the following thread, we see all the H-1Bs being chased this year. IT has nothing to do with shortages nor skills gaps. Nothing 💰💰 It's about cheaper labor and maintaining a 'buyer's market' for tech talent. @ericweinstein calls this the 'Engineering Coolies' model of innovation. Keep 'em desperate, low paid and scared...and working like slaves.

Some portray H-1Bs as cheap and O-1s as talented, but O-1s carry a higher risk of fraud. Elon, Sundar, and many top talents came on F-1 → H-1B, not O-1. Real talent is proven by growth—those in top U.S. tech roles have already shown it.

Prioritize green cards for long-term legal residents (10+ yrs) with approved petitions. Keeping millions in limbo while bringing new ones in via family/diversity hurts fairness—and forces citizens to compete with indentured workers tied to employers.

People on family/diversity visas can vote after 5 years. But skilled immigrants, here legally for 10+ years with approved petitions, still can’t. Why? Is that good for America? Give long-term legal residents citizenship—and a voice and freedom.

Keeping millions in long-term limbo (effectively indentured) harms both citizens and skilled immigrants. Delaying to end of the per-country cap encourage employers to prefer tied workers and develop them as STEM talent.

The Big Beautiful Bill gives $100B+ to ICE, but nothing to legal immigrants in tech. No H-1B reform. No green cards for AI talent. No backlog relief. Just walls, raids, and asylum fees. This isn’t policy , it’s self-sabotage. While America chokes its own talent pipeline, China is funding AI labs and welcoming engineers. You don’t dominate the future by deporting it. This bill is a blueprint for American decline. SAD.
