My favorite local pizzeria has a new (Turkish) owner and subsequently has removed the Prosciutto from all pizzas in favor of turkey ham. Of course they're keeping the Italian name :|

These meters are so cool. If I remember correctly, these are sort of a motorised galvanometer with mirrors reflecting a small light beam. I think it is by far the most creative VU meter design of its era. They are also used on ALPINE AL-80 and similar model cassette decks. ❤️

Thinking about where QuickInstall goes in the future wrt hardware support for the installer. Legacy HW support is certainly not improving in Linux and 486 support is removed. Update 5.10 to 6.18 LTS and re-evaluate in 2028? Or keep an up-to-date kernel only for USB boots? Hmmm

I saw something some years ago when debugging a fault in the USB stack of a Windows CE BSP from Freescale/NXP, where the argument list to some functions kept growing they eventually just made an "arguments" struct out of everything🤣
Ok I think I found a new record for most arguments sent to a function

NVidia nForce 430 / MCP51 This chipset's network controller has NEVER before run on Windows 98. Getting this driver to load was HELL. It hides behind a "bus driver", does double frees and 0-size allocs and other hellish things (curious that XP was *that* lenient). What a ride.
What's this UWU? A NDIS 5.1 Windows XP / Server 2003 network driver running on Windows 98!

On XP, RtlFreeUnicodeString clears the struct (incl. buffer pointer), and the XP kernel handles a NULL free just fine, On 98, RtlFreeUnicodeString just frees the buffer, it leaves the struct untouched... Not sure if Microsoft or NVidia gets the blame for that double free :)

Bonus: - Unmasks IRQ way before registering the IRQ handler (harmless on XP for some reason) - Win98 NDIS stack fails when mapping files over 500k and when it does it leaves a stale pointer in the handle which gets double freed - 0-size allocs. Benign on XP, hard crash on 98

Next Mushkin SSD dying, the first one died some years ago already... Crappy model that. Good that I catch it in time this time around. It's my work drive with all of my projects on it (including quickinstall). Bad that it happens now when 2TB SSDs cost giga money
