And you want to talk about double standards? Y’all dragged Mika for supposedly being “mean” to S when that has always been their dynamic. She wasn’t constantly smiling, giggling, and performing the version of femininity you wanted, so suddenly her personality was a problem. But when Belmont appears to switch up his energy toward his co-star, suddenly everyone understands nuance and has fifteen explanations ready. Be fucking for real!!!!

Sometimes Ella doesn’t share something. Sometimes Antonio doesn’t. Sometimes Mika or India don’t. Nobody expects every cast member to repost every single update. So bringing up Mika not sharing the release date as some “gotcha” makes no fucking sense (and she has it as a collab and commented on it, it’s not like she ignored it.) For her, it’s an exception. With Belmont, it’s the pattern people have been discussing this entire time.

Aren’t y’all the same ones telling fans to stop being parasocial and focus on his work instead of his private life? Well, this IS about his work. Following your own logic, fans are allowed to have an opinion about how he engages with the project they’re supporting him for.

There’s a clear pattern of him choosing not to post about the show on his own social media. This isn’t a one-time thing, and fans are allowed to be disappointed by that disconnect. Most of his fandom started supporting him because they liked his work on the show, so yes, it’s disappointing for them to see him barely acknowledge it outside official promo.

Since the show came out, his only post about it has been the Prime graphic celebrating 36 million viewers. He’s active on social media, but he hasn’t shared anything linked to the show, when Mika, India, Ella, Antonio, etc., constantly have. He talks about the show when interviewers ask him about it. Is he supposed to tell them to fuck off? Of course he talks about his most successful show when it comes up in interviews. What else is he supposed to talk about? Honestly.

The conversation about Belmont isn’t about him not sharing this ONE announcement. Women in Hollywood already get picked apart for shit men get endless grace for. Ofc, I’m going to defend them against that. Defending Mika over one missed repost while criticizing Belmont’s ongoing pattern isn’t a double standard!!! Treating her personality like a character flaw while making excuses for everything he does? We can fucking talk about that.

Y’all are making this a much bigger issue than it is. I made ONE tweet about it. The point was that, since the show came out, he’s only posted about it once on his personal Instagram. We’re talking about his personal engagement with the project. Bringing up official promo with Ella or interviews where someone specifically asks him about Off Campus doesn’t address that. What’s he supposed to do when they ask, throw the microphone away? There’s a disconnect when an actor seems to engage with a project only through professional commitments. That’s what people are commenting on. He’s not obligated to post about the show on his personal account or interact with fans. It’s nice when actors do, but they don’t have to. And fans are allowed to be disappointed by that. If you think it’s unimportant, move on. You don’t have to agree, but you’re not going to change anyone’s mind by arguing against a point they weren’t making.
