Last month, we hosted our first QTS Jamboree, bringing together colleagues and supply chain partners.
As QTS continues to grow, the event gave newer colleagues the opportunity to see the range of services we can offer existing and prospective clients, while learning more about different areas of the business.
Our E&W Vegetation Management team recently completed a challenging job at Edmonton Grove, removing approximately 20 cherry trees, whilst also coming up with an ecologically sensitive solution due to a large active badger sett surrounding the trees.
Working alongside the Network Rail Ecologist and using a Jekko tracked crane with grapple saw (provided by Tom Hirst), the works were successfully completed in just one day without impacting or disturbing the sett.
Following a routine inspection, QTS delivered an emergency response on behalf of @networkrailWCML at Church Lawford, Rugby.
With challenging ground conditions, including a highly weathered limestone band, our teams installed toe and mid-slope catch fences, using a winched excavator and long-reach machine to safely deliver the works, while maintaining railway operations below.
We are recruiting a Drainage Site Manager to join our growing drainage team.
Applicants should have at least five years of on-site drainage experience, including work with Jetting and CCTV units.
Personal Track Safety certification is preferred but not required, as training can be provided.
The role is based in the Wirral area and requires working away from home.

Our Social Value Lead Jane, recently visited St Patrick’s Primary School in Shotts to engage with pupils about our ongoing railway works.
The interactive presentation focused on the critical work being delivered in the area with a heavy emphasis on safety.
Ahead of #WorldMentalHealthDay, our Training Manager (Health & Safety), Erik Priessman, shares why reaching out for support is so important.
At QTS, Mental Health First Aiders and our Employee Assistance Programme are available to support our people whenever they need it.
Our teams have recently been on site at West Allerton and Mossley Hill stations in Liverpool, installing fencing, gates and anti-trespass matting at platform ends following an increase in trespassing incidents on the railway.
The work forms part of a wider project across the North West designed to deter trespassing and vandalism, improving safety and helping to protect both the railway and surrounding communities.
More than 20 sites have been successfully completed as part of the programme to date.
