Here's Jemima, waiting for me to read her the story of George, the Stourbridge Junction Cat. The book just arrived today, and she's already wondering when it'll be her turn as a literary figure. @TheStourbridge
Beautiful late summer Sunday here in Denver, as Jemima performs her neighborhood #Hedgewatch duties from our second-floor balcony. It was 94⁰F with bright sunshine, but a scant 22% humidity. I'm glad we have a north-facing condo unit.
Jemima spending a Saturday #Hedgewatch morning keeping an eye out for itinerant dog-walkers. It's almost 90⁰F so far, but pleasant in the shade of our north-facing balcony, since humidity is a scant 15%. Happy International Cat Day to all who celebrate.
Sunday 5/10/26: Minnesota Opera, "I pagliacci." Fantastic set, costumes and staging. Orchestra, superb. Singers? Meh! Whose bright idea was it to have a matinee follow an evening performance with the same cast? When your production's best voice belongs to Silvio, that's trouble.

@StratOMatic After 40+ years & more than 38,200 solo games, I FINALLY had my 1st perfect game! 1986 Pirates vs Padres as part of a full-season replay, NL Game No. 503 (7/9/86). Rick Rhoden goes to 12-6, four days before the All-Star break.
Last night: Czech/Austrian Rudolf Buchbinder (age 79) played & conducted Beethoven Piano Concertos 1 & 5 for 1000+ patrons at Basel [CH] Stadtcasino. Spectacular performances by soloist and orchestra; five well-deserved curtain calls. Brilliant cadenza in No. 1!
Visited Basel's Jewish Museum today. The special exhibit featured the wooden synagogues of Poland, preserved in art thanks to a 1959 book by two Polish architects. Artist Frank Stella was inspired to design a graphic series, including the artwork below that greets visitors.
This car was parked outside my local 24-Hour Fitness Center about a month ago. It might belong to a former employee of the British Broadcasting Corporation now living in Denver, whose initials are M.Y. and who went to work for them in 1971. Maybe?
Here’s Jemima, performing critical #Hedgewatch action from our second-floor balcony. The dog-walkers are out in force on this beautiful October Saturday afternoon,
Here’s Jemima, relaxing on our balcony in anticipation of today — International Cat Day. I said to my wife, “Isn’t that every day?” She replied, “Well, for them — yes.”
Celebrating the fourth anniversary of Jemima's Gotcha Day (July 3, 2021). Greetings to cat lovers everywhere from Denver, Colorado.
I can tell ahead of time when an OF "chick" shows up, because it involves some rando "liking" an obscure tweet I made ages ago. The vast majority depict highly ordinary-looking women (not even remotely exceptional), so what's the appeal? Are they making any money this way?
Hey @AirCanada, why'd your Denver counter agent let us check in our bags DEN-YUL 15Feb on complex 3-segment route to TLV while knowing we'd already miss all our connectors? @united rerouted us great, but bags are STILL in Denver 24 hrs later. No clean clothes; nice work, #hosers!
Follow-up: Bags arrived at our hotel Monday at 1400 GMT+2, apx 96 hrs after our departure. Our son works at DEN airport and physically found them after I sent him the Airtag location. I'm convinced they'd still be there if he hadn't gone to get them. @AirCanada, you suck!
Mesa County clerk Tina Peters gets NINE YEARS in prison. Suck on it, Tina, you unmitigated piece of barely human excrement!

In honor of #InternationalCatDay, here is our five-year-old rescue, Jemima, who celebrated her third Gotcha Day with us in July. Many thanks to @DDFL Denver Dumb Friends League for bringing us together!!!
Attended @ccityopera Central City Opera's 7/31 performance of Puccini's "La fanciulla del West." Great matinee crowd, terrific orchestra (as usual). Kara Thompson (Minnie) and Grant Youngblood (Jack Rantz) were decent. Standouts: Christopher Job and Matthew Cossack.
