WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN SOMEONE COLLAPSES SUDDENLY?
This is where first aid and emergency response become very important.
If someone suddenly collapses:
1. Check whether the person responds when you call or gently tap them.
2. Check whether they are breathing normally.
3. If they are unresponsive and not breathing normally, including gasping, suspect cardiac arrest.
4. Call emergency services immediately and ask someone to bring an AED if available.
5. Start CPR immediately. Push hard and fast in the centre of the chest, at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute.
6. Use an AED as soon as it becomes available and follow its instructions.
