Excited to announce the acquisition of @nestpick by @theblueground !

in hindsight you could’ve just built a neo lab which might’ve been 10x easier.
instead you chose the application layer, where you get to combine all of the complexities from product, distribution, platform risk, user psychology, integrations, pricing, commoditization, retention, & whatever the model companies decide to vaporize next week.
excellent decision.
+1 @alighodsi . Ahead in enterprise AI is RAG + Data Agent running on @databricks or @Snowflake, yet both cant writeback to systems of record therefore just drive better BI.
People use SoR's, Agents should too, for real productivity. Also work is wf's, and wf's are multiplayer
Databricks CEO @alighodsi went off on @a16z pod about enterprise AI adoption:
"They're just so far behind in the adoption curve of actually automating things and getting value out of this stuff."
Ali says most companies are still just using chatbots. There's hardly any agentic transformation.
Why is that?
"The models are smart enough, but they just don't have the context that exists inside of any organization."
"They have not been in every meeting. They don't know what's in everybody's heads. They don't know all the processes."
"If you just fused that and gave that context into the AI models...there's so much productivity gains you could get for any organization on the planet."
Context Creation is the biggest opportunity in AI right now.
I thought being smart (core reason of my upward mobility) in entrepreneurship wouldn't matter anymore. I just changed my pov; "fall forward intelligence" will be the determinant, but it will be as hard as picking/backing @Eminem in '95 for VC's to spot one.
Since the start the nuclear program was a top secret project. That didn't prevent making its way to the main adversaries.
AI has been built everything out there, and big labs now want to lock it?
That's an insult to our intellect. Genie's out of the bottle, no crying in casino!
Thought provoking article from @bhargreaves on AI and the transformation of software with an easter egg quote from myself on what we've been cooking:

This is incredible. Since becoming the manager of Spain in 2022, De La Fuente has only lost two matches. 🤯👏

A big pivot from Ken Griffin on AI:
“Number one is, in the last few months, there has been a step change in the productivity of the AI toolkit. It is profoundly more powerful than it was just nine months ago.
And for us at Citadel, that has allowed us to unleash a much broader array of use cases for AI. And it has been really interesting to watch, to be blunt, work that we would usually do with people with masters and PhDs in finance over the course of weeks or months being done by AI agents over the course of hours or days.
These are not these are not mid-tier white collar jobs. These are like extraordinarily high skilled jobs being, I'm going to pick a word, automated by agentic AI. And I gotta tell you, I went home one Friday actually fairly depressed by this because you could just see how this was going to have such a dramatic impact on society.
When you witness it in your own four walls, when you see work that used to be man years of work being done in days or weeks, it's like, wow, like that's the first time I've seen real impact in our four walls.”
This echoes my own experience with agents and the conversations I am having with students, friends & clients. The toolkit has dramatically transformed and it feels like in finance, for the first time, AI is real.
Efficiency gains are deflationary in many player markets and it won't be much different this time around.
If running a business becomes way more efficient with tech; it will be table stakes, and the players will compete for market share & growth decreasing the prices & margins.

Cutting engineering workforce by 70% to deliver the same roadmap? How about keep everyone and delivering 3 times more? These CTO’s will be leapfrogged.
Had drinks with 30 CTOs last night at an off-the-record gathering in Palo Alto
Every single one showed me the same internal PowerPoint slide
"2026 AI Headcount Targets: Path to 70% Cost Reduction"
The numbers will make you physically sick
Fintech CTO planning to cut 280-person engineering org down to 43 "AI orchestrators" by September. Same product roadmap. Same delivery expectations.
Healthcare CTO already eliminated his entire manual QA department. 67 people. Replaced with 3 senior engineers running autonomous testing agents that ship code directly to production.
SaaS CTO walked me through his "human depreciation timeline": 340 engineers today, 89 planned for 2027. Customer support going from 120 humans to 12 "escalation specialists" managing AI conversations.
The most chilling part: they're all using the exact same consulting deck from McKinsey called "The 30% Organization"
One CTO literally said "hiring humans for code is like hiring horses for transportation"
Another showed me Slack screenshots where his L7s are asking if they should train their replacements
The consensus was unanimous: if you can't manage 10 AI agents by Christmas, you're not making it to New Year's
Every single one of them is planning to announce these cuts as "AI transformation success stories"
While their stock options vest at record highs built on the backs of workers they're about to execute
The future of engineering is 3 humans with 50 AI agents in a WeWork somewhere while 500 families lose their homes
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The McKinsey deck "The 30% Organization" does not exist, and no verified reports confirm the claimed widespread 70% AI headcount reductions among CTOs. McKinsey has discussed modest changes like 25% role growth in some areas and 10% cuts in others. mckinsey.com finance.yahoo.com/news/mckinseys… bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Money is the fastest effing thing in the world and it's not even close.
OpenAI shares have fallen out of favor on the secondary market — in some cases becoming almost impossible to unload — as investors pivot quickly to Anthropic, its biggest competitor. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
One of the greatest articles that I've read for a while by @Alfred_Lin , strongly recommended for those building in tech.
A tectonic change started between the probability of success in judgement vs. the funding $$$ and/or existing market dominance.
You could DIY many things for many years, yet people still spend a lot of $$$ for the products/services that are high quality crafts or much more convenient to buy vs DIY.
Narrative violation. HNY NYC!
A remarkable trend that will come as a shock to you if your only info about NYC is from this website.
