This is coming from a place of concern and love, not hate. I really want to understand why Igbo actors and filmmakers seem to be neglecting their language. While Yoruba filmmakers consistently dominate the space with rich, native-language cinema, it is incredibly difficult to find mainstream, high-budget Igbo-speaking movies. Every tribe acts in English movies, so that shouldn't be the default excuse anymore. Why are Igbo filmmakers not prioritizing their own linguistic heritage to stand out? It honestly looks like Igbo filmmakers are too scared to take risks on their own mother tongue. Showing raw cultural pride on the big screen isn't an audacity you can just steal or copy from others, it has to be inbuilt.
