OpenCrabs patch release v0.5.14 is out. This one is about reaching more people and breaking fewer files. Two new languages joined the lie-catching packs, and the edit tools got a fix for a bug class that has been quietly corrupting files. The headline is the language coverage. OpenCrabs now speaks Arabic and Chinese natively: 732 intent phrases for Arabic built from verb families, and 1,222 for Chinese where every phrase exists in both Simplified and Traditional, so 我会检查 and 我會檢查 both land. The detection is script-aware, which is the subtle part: Japanese and Korean also write with Han characters, so the Chinese branch only fires when there is no kana or hangul in the text. At the same time the existing Spanish, French, Indonesian, Russian and Portuguese packs jumped from around a hundred intent phrases each to 436-545, the same order of magnitude as English. A pack with a third of the phrases catches a third of the lies, and that gap is closed. The edit bug came from a user report and it was a good one. Ask edit_file to delete a line and it rebuilt the whole file from a line split: your final newline vanished, and every CRLF ending in the file turned into LF. The diff view even hid it, because it diffs the same rebuilt strings. The fix splices bytes instead of rebuilding, and the same CRLF defect was found and fixed in hashline_edit while verifying. Nineteen new tests now pin the byte-level behavior, where before this there were zero. Infrastructure got stiffer too. A new CI lint fails the build the moment anyone introduces a byte slice that can panic on a multi-byte character, with 910 existing sites baselined. Every workflow action is pinned to an immutable commit, the Rust toolchain is pinned to 1.98.1, and the test suite now runs on Linux as well as macOS. 2 features. 10 fixes. 11,407 tests. Grab it at opencrabs.com/download Thanks to @syafriadit1 @iamloonix and the 3 new contributors @echoxiangchen, @yimengzhiyan and @VincentFeliciano.

What's in v0.5.14: • Arabic language pack: 732 intent phrases built from future, present and perfective families, plus Arabic-script detection across three Unicode ranges (#2222) • Chinese language pack: 1,222 intent and 237 completion phrases, every one written in both Simplified and Traditional; detection routes to Chinese only when no kana or hangul is present, so Japanese and Korean never hit the wrong pack (#2223) • European Portuguese: continuous narration like "estou a atualizar" joins the Brazilian gerund arm (#2224) • Spanish, French, Indonesian, Russian and Portuguese packs raised from 96-164 to 436-545 intent phrases each, and a corrupted Russian completion claim that could never match is fixed (#2225) • edit_file: replace_lines, insert_line and delete_lines splice bytes instead of rebuilding the string, so the final newline and CRLF endings survive (#2227) • hashline_edit: output joins with the file's dominant line ending instead of a bare LF (#2227) • CI: a new ratchet fails the build when a new clippy::string_slice site appears, 910 sites baselined (#2221) • Infra: every workflow action pinned to an immutable commit, Rust pinned to 1.98.1, the test suite now also runs on Linux, and the published Linux asset is executed before upload (#2214, #2215, #2216, #2217) 5 CONTRIBUTORS • 26 COMMITS • 10 FIXES • 2 FEATURES • 11,407 TESTS

I’m happy to continue contributing to this community, and I found this bug using @opencrabs itself—it has a built-in free provider.
OpenCrabs v0.5.13 is out. Most of this release is one bug that kept showing up in different clothes. A detached task would finish and you would see it twice: the "running" message and then a second message with the result. Four channels, four fixes, and now the task owns one row from start to finish. On Telegram a normal turn had the same problem, answer split across two bubbles. That is fixed too. Discord got the hardest look, nine fixes deep. Interactions now obey the session turn slot, the turn group lock is no longer held across a governor sleep, reactions get the same identity check as messages, pending approvals drop on every exit from the wait, and the pending maps are capped. None of that is visible when it works. All of it was visible when it did not. WhatsApp stopped fighting itself. Sessions keyed by LID now fold into their phone-number twin instead of splitting your history in two. A message you send mid-turn gets queued instead of killing the live turn. Status posts get dropped instead of answered. The composing indicator backs off and gives up instead of retrying forever. Two smaller things I care about. A request that dies during connection setup now says whether the name failed to resolve or the connection stalled. Before, a DNS failure and a slow server both read as "request timed out", so you debugged the wrong thing. Plus full screen sessions and help dialogs in the TUI, clipboard that tries every backend including Wayland, hashline tags widened to six characters, and an install identity that lives in its own file so a lost token can never mint a second user. 2 features. 52 fixes. 11,333 tests. Grab it at opencrabs.com/download Thanks to @syafriadit1 @iamloonix @antony87-x and @spinecki. Adi filed 28 of the issues in this window, which is a serious chunk of the channel work above. @syafriadit1 was an absolute beast on this one, thanks bro! Without you guys, @opencrabs would not be the same. Thank you.

What's in v0.5.13: • A detached task reports its start and finish with one id, and every channel updates that row instead of posting a second message (#2145, #2147, #2148, #2149, #2150) • Telegram: a turn ends with its answer in one bubble rather than two (#2156) • Discord: interactions obey the session turn slot, the turn group lock is not held across a governor sleep, reactions get the same identity check as messages, pending approvals drop on every exit, the select and form maps are capped, the compaction pinger stops with the turn (#2189, #2191, #2192, #2193, #2194, #2195) • WhatsApp: LID-keyed sessions fold into their phone-number twin, a mid-turn message queues instead of killing the turn, inbound status posts are dropped, the composing indicator backs off and gives up, delete goes through the send limiter, one status per recipient (#2176, #2177, #2178, #2179, #2181, #2182) • Provider: a request that dies during connect now says whether the name failed to resolve or the connection stalled (#2204) • Install: the script writes the shell's PATH entry once, offers --no-path, and verifies with command -v before claiming success (#2203) • TUI: full screen sessions and help dialogs with their commands in the footer, clipboard fallbacks including Wayland, nvim and helix editor handoff (#2162, #2171, #2173) • hashline: line tags widen from four characters to six, and a ref that does not parse shows real tags (#2201, #2202) • Sessions: a new channel session no longer inherits a provider the config disables (#2158) 5 CONTRIBUTORS • 61 COMMITS • 52 FIXES • 2 FEATURES • 11,333 TESTS

Right: the crab users with all the ideas and all the directions and plans. Small, loud, sketching something new at 3am like sleep is a rumor. Left: @opencrabs that has to carry every single one of them. Two arrows in the back, still kneeling, still not dropping a thing. One of them does the orchestration. The other one does the actual building. 🦀

I had @opencrabs create a Gmail account, followed by setting up a YouTube account, and this is all running on my old Lenovo G480, which I access from my phone via @rustdesk. The automation handled by OC is so easy, and the free plan works seamlessly.
