A brilliant @BritGeoSurvey Birding Group trip out @RutlandWaterNR yesterday where we saw 56 species including the antics of 3 juv Ospreys and their parents, Marsh Harrier and had a great intro by the team at Lyndon Reserve. Many thanks to you all.
Tony's really bringing Derbyshire Mothing into the 21st century at last. Any of my network that isn't connected to Tony please do so to ensure that records are collected, updated, and reported on.
I've just completed a new Derbyshire Moths News Bulletin which I intend to issue on a regular basis. @Moth_Lady @savebutterflies @ButterfliesEM @DaNES_Insects @DerbysWildlife drive.google.com/file/d/1_D5…
The inaugural @BritGeoSurvey Birding Group outing took place today at @RSPBLangford. Hobby, Marsh Harrier and a Barn Owl were highlights along with 4 Common Terns, 5 Common Gulls moving south, Black-tailed Skimmer and Brown Hawker (forgot to take photos of people!)

Did you know that when a borehole is drilled the information gained is often only used once?
That is changing with the addition of a new requirement to the #Construction Playbook that will enable greater access and reuse.

More wildlife improvements @BritGeoSurvey this lunchtime with the opening of our Grand Bug Hotel as well as installing new signage (thanks for your help Stu!) to tell our visitors why we're not mowing the grass any more! Come on in Bees!!
First @Derbyshirebirds Swallows of the year at High Bridge, & at Barrow GP later. Also 5 Sand Martins, and conversely 6 Redwing and 9 Fieldfare, with a big flock of 65+ Linnet at Ingleby. Green Sand, LRP, Redshank. Mandarin was a site tick at both sites for me #derbyshirebirds
Late morning visit to Swarkestone to tick my 3rd Tundra Bean Goose for Derbys, in exactly the same location as my first in 1995! Hard to resist when accompanied by 2 White-fronted Goose too. Great finds in this amazing corridor for migrants! @Derbyshirebirds @BirdGuides #tbnDBY

We’re trapped in a truly rotten system.
Not only is capitalism driving pretty much all life on Earth to extinction, but it’s keeping most people so busy and distracted that they’re not even really aware it’s happening.

Just made good use of our wild area @BritGeoSurvey to have my lunch and take in the autumnal colours. A few birds but probably would have been better if I'd topped the feeders up BEFORE I had mine.... @NottsBirders @Natures_Voice
Another decent #vismig over Breaston this morning 7-930 although not as busy as recent few days. Almost no Wood pigeon movement today but plenty of Fieldfare and Redwing west, 11x Golden Plover NE, 5x Pink-footed Goose E, and a few Siskin south #derbyshirebirds
