The NCAA is suing Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine over an executive order issued earlier this week that could allow Ohio colleges to roster athletes deemed ineligible under NCAA rules, per @RossDellenger. In its 41-page complaint, the NCAA calls the order a "misguided attempt" to give Ohio schools an "unfair, unprecedented and unwarranted competitive advantage." Full story: yhoo.it/3U0Xqib

Having just listened to the oral argument in Wisne v. NCAA at the 10th Circuit, I think the NCAA will win 3-0 and it won't be close. With attorney Rakesh Kilaru arguing for the NCAA, the NCAA had a great day in court. The nationwide injunction is highly likely to be reversed IMO.
A showdown over NCAA eligibility arrives Tuesday at the 10th Circuit. The ruling in Wisne v. NCAA could affect thousands of former college athletes, millions in NIL opportunities, and the future of eligibility litigation. My latest for @Sportico: sportico.com/law/analysis/20….

Again- I think the chances are small anyone leaves at this point (because they could have already), but a coaching change triggers a 15-day window until Jan. 2. Players with junior eligibility could leave, play juniors, and get a jumpstart on a transfer. Yes, they could have done that in September and didn't, so the chances it happens are small, but it's possible. That's my only point. I don't think it's a big conspiracy. The point is - it's right there in black and white - that until Jan. 2, a portal window opens if there is a coaching change. ncaa.org/news/media-center-d…

SEC presidents today tabled a vote on re-implementing the intraconference transfer policy that would require athletes moving within the league to sit a season, sources tell @YahooSports. Presidents approved a uniform NIL/rev-share contract that includes customizable components.
SEC presidents will meet next week to consider a proposal that would reestablish a year-in-residency mandate for athletes moving within the conference, sources tell @YahooSports. The move would require athletes to miss a season if transferring from one SEC school to another.

Statement from NCAA President Charlie Baker about the Protect College Sports Act: "Student-athletes from across the country and all three NCAA Divisions worked hard to get on this legislation moving and thanks to their advocacy, the bill just received a massive, bipartisan vote in the Senate. The NCAA thanks the many senators who sponsored this bill – including Senators Cruz, Cantwell, Schmitt and Coons – as well as the many other senators who voted for the bill, for their bipartisan effort to protect this uniquely American tradition of college sports in the decades to come. Now the bill moves to the U.S. House of Representatives and there is much work left to do to ensure student-athlete benefits are codified into federal law and future generations of young people can access those benefits and use college sports as the launching point for their careers.”
