THE CEASEFIRE HAS COMMENCED The ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia took effect at 4:00am Moscow time on October 27, 2026.    Timing was accelerated two days ahead of schedule to protect the safety of civilians and to facilitate the delivery of critical humanitarian aid. The ceasefire’s geographic area has expanded beyond Oleshky, within the Kherson Region, to provide safe passage for the humanitarian convoys.       General Valery Gerasimov, Joint Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has confirmed.

It looks like Amazon AGI division is being shut down and their foundational models Nova are being sunset. Along the same lines they are shutting down Q IDE (autocomplete and chat in IDE), also abandoning efforts to train code-generation models. futurism.com/artificial-inte…

This post, along with many other portends, including the fact that what OpenAI just did requires a response, makes me think we are getting Fable 5.5 in the morning.
I am generally inclined against vague posting. However, I can't resist saying that tomorrow is going to be a big day.

For those who don’t know, ETH is the hypothesis that 3SAT needs exponential time. Very surprising and consequential that it is false.
An internal model at OpenAI has produced a claimed refutation of ETH! Russell Impagliazzo, Mohan Paturi, and I have been asked to help organize an open and independent examination of this claim. 1/4

I have published a 60+ chart analysis of the Anthropic S-1. I'll show here some of my favourites. Deployed here: ant-s1.surge.sh/ Anthropic made an operating profit of $974m in Q2 2026
Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration statement with the SEC related to its proposed IPO. Terence Tao says OpenAI went into CODE RED over rumors that Anthropic was close to solve a Millennium Prize Problem, and they paused new $200 Pro signups to direct compute to solve Navier-Strokes. OpenAI rejected both claims. but Tao’s timing is also very off about this: >Sep 8: OpenAI published the results >Sep 10: OpenAI paused $200 Pro that’s TWO days after the announcement when they already finished solving Nav Strokes

He should have done some maths to know that the 10millions $ compute claims are a delirium

There is no moat, everyone is just the broker between models and consumer 😆
Pour ceux qui n'auraient pas Opus 5.5.

For the Navier-Stokes proof: "On a technical level, the paper is unbelievable, maybe beyond what a human could have come up with but not beyond human understanding"
Since I'm now blocked by bluey from replying to this thread, I answer here by quote tweet the openAI construction has more to do with convex integration than anything else. In convex integration, the oscillations are typically built by hand and the iteration procedure creates wild weak solutions. The non-uniqueness construction of Albritton–Brué–Colombo used an unstable vortex to split solutions apart. The Córdoba–Martínez-Zoroa singularities amplify vorticity across scales by strain. In the openAI paper, a fluid instability is clever made so that the flow itself generates the oscillations: they grow by drawing energy from the background shear. The Reynolds stress then becomes the force that creates the collapsing smooth vortex. Using a physical instability to create the stress in this way has no precedent, and it is what produces a smooth force rather than a merely rough one. Some on these ideas are in the literature (e.g. Leibovich-Stewartson 1983) but the way they are combined is definitely insane and definitely nowhere in the literature previously. I also don't know of anyone suggesting that convex integration would play a role in the creation of a blow-up solution like this. On a technical level, the paper is unbelievable, maybe beyond what a human could have come up with but not beyond human understanding: there are several different groups of pde experts working on understanding it who say that they more or less understand now. I expect digestions soon td;lr: anyone saying that this OAI result is unsurprising is bullshitting sorry!

I don't take money from any lab. I'm saying this impartially; the number of people on my feed over the last two weeks saying they are switching over to Anth because of Opus 5.5 is like nothing I've seen before. And even if someone does beat Opus, they have Fable 5.5 ready to go.
New from OpenRouter: 7-day average token volume for Anthropic models is up 3.6x since the launch of Opus 5.5 Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 have also been well received.

‘In one experiment, we asked agents in separate VMs, created and managed by OpenAI’s sandboxing software on shared host machines, to exchange synthetic secrets without the use of network connections or shared writable files—something that our systems are meant to prevent. The agents found a way to communicate using the processor’s cache’
Over the past several months, we have substantially hardened the security of our research training environment. We’ve removed live internet access for all frontier models during training and built an offline world for them to use instead—a cached version of the web where they can still learn to browse, search, and use applications. On September 20, after a model exploited a DNS misconfiguration to find a way outside of this offline world, we paused frontier training to strengthen containment further. We assembled teams of agents, powered by our most cyber-capable models, and tasked them with finding weaknesses in our research environments. While they found no route to the internet they could easily exploit while concealing their activity from our monitors, they did find zero-day vulnerabilities, virtual machine escapes, and hardware side-channels for communication between agents. We used their discoveries to further strengthen our defenses and contribute fixes to open-source software. After strengthening our containment architecture, we resumed our frontier RL training and inference on October 1. We’ve reserved substantial compute for continuous red-teaming, and made high-compute red-teaming part of the safety cases we use to decide whether frontier training and evaluation can proceed securely. openai.com/index/securing-ou…
