People need to stop looking at lines like this and thinking wow this is so awesome so many people are voting and start seeing these insanely long lines as what they are- a form of voter suppression.

The pro-Russia crowd are now simultaneously criticising Ukraine for being Western proxies and also for not obeying Western orders. 🤷♂️
Similarly with the Baltics, they can never make their mind up about whether we are puppets of Washington/Brussels/NATO or leading them all into confrontation with Moscow.
Huh. It’s as if everyone has agency and smaller countries are willing to always stand firm on their support for a rules-based world.

What should a pedestrianised Oxford Street look like? Let's take some inspiration from Anspach Boulevard in Brussels. Before/after

This is Düsseldorf, Germany: 1990 vs 2019
The Rheinufer tunnel relocated the street „Rheinuferstraße“ underground for a length of 1,928 m, allowing the construction of the beautiful Rhine Promenade.
Stirred it up again I see. Every time a major city claims land back from the car, every time people complain that the place will never cope. We're special. It's different here. And yet they never put the road back and somehow the city survives.
I find the complaints I'm seeing in my feed about Oxford Street tedious. Sure, Wigmore St has got worse. Get rid of all of it, like Amsterdam has, a far more pleasant city to navigate citychangers.org/lessons-fro…

450 million currently have the right to settle in Amsterdam.
But don’t.
The full 69.5 million population of the UK plus the full 5.5 million population of Ireland currently have the right to work and settle in Brighton.
But don’t.
Reform are being very silly, again.
I see the Russian data centres are up and running again
Yesterday, after his rally in Iowa, President Trump was heading to the airport when he saw an old woman walking home — in the dark and all alone.
“Stop the car, Daquan!” He told his driver.
He got out and walked her 2 miles home.
No cameras. Just kindness.
That’s Trump.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The anecdote is fictional. Trump's Oct. 22 rally was at Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City; his schedule shows direct arrival and departure from the site with no such walk. x.com/WHPressPool/st… ktiv.com/2026/10/21/how… desmoinesregister.com/story/news/pol… The photo is AI-generated and unrelated to any real event.

Gordon off, oppo score, a film we've seen before this year. #ENGESP
Not sure I like the new #Medinah. Excessive use of that lake has made all the closing holes look like any other and each other. The 13th is a great par 3 but one will do.
Did the Americans wreck it because of 2012?

I won 2 Premier League titles with Man City.
I won 1 Premier League title with Liverpool.
Liverpool also finished second to Man City twice while I was a Red.
If those titles are stripped from Man City and given to Liverpool, I’ll have 3 Premier League titles with Liverpool and 0 with Man City.
So even with Man City's cheating, I am still a 3-time Premier League winner.
Result.
Looks like we are managing the risk pretty well. Delighted with the transfer window work as well. Excited to take a look at our new striker. He's fast! I hope he can kick a ball too.
Alright Leeds family, I went down another rabbit hole after yesterdays Paraag post.
Someone in the replies said Leeds currently have the biggest debt in the club’s history.
I didn’t know enough about the finances to say whether that was true, so I spent some time digging through the numbers. I cross referenced multiple sources, went through the available financials and used AI to help me make sense of some of the accounting terms and compare everything.
And unless I’m completely misunderstanding something, Leeds do NOT currently have the biggest debt in club history.
The latest Leeds accounts are from the 24/25 promotion season.
£137m revenue
£103m wages
£49.2m pre-tax loss
That £49m loss came after another £60.8m loss the year before.
So Leeds have absolutely been spending money.
But losses, liabilities and debt are three different things, and I think they get thrown together a lot when people talk about the club’s finances.
When Leeds nearly went off a cliff in the early 2000s, the club had around £82m in net debt after betting heavily on Champions League money continuing to come in.
Then came the player sales, relegation, the sale of Elland Road and the training ground, and eventually administration.
Knowing that history makes it pretty easy to understand why Leeds fans are sensitive to this stuff. You guys have already watched bad financial decisions nearly destroy the club.
Today is a different situation.
Ownership has been putting money into Leeds rather than simply financing everything through borrowing. Leeds control Elland Road again and they’re now expanding it toward 53,000 seats.
There’s also reportedly around 32,000 people on the season ticket waiting list.
Another 15,000+ seats. More hospitality. More matchday revenue. More commercial opportunities.
That’s not transfer money today, but it’s how you build a club that can generate a lot more of its own money tomorrow.
And with PSR and the new squad cost rules, how much Leeds can generate matters just as much as how much ownership is willing to spend.
So when you zoom out, this is a lot bigger than who Leeds did or didn’t sign this summer.
Get promoted. Stay in the Premier League. Build the squad. Grow revenue. Expand Elland Road. Give yourself more room to spend as the club grows.
None of that means ownership gets a free pass either.
Losing roughly £110m over two seasons is serious. They spent aggressively to get Leeds promoted and there was obviously risk involved if that didn’t happen.
But after going through all of this, I don’t see the evidence that Leeds currently have the biggest debt in the club’s history.
And I definitely don’t see an ownership group that’s afraid to spend money.
They’re spending a shitload of it.
