be careful an “engineer” could say the same now 👀
"are you a designer or an engineer?" -yes.

seen this over and over again; it doesn't matter how many years of experience you have. how awesome you are in figma. how fast you ship with ai. how clean your designs look. you won't get a single client for months! unless you do marketing. unless you do networking.

i have been running various tests and making optimisations for the upcoming crucial . design website this morning. i want buttery smooth experience despite having many animated portfolio pieces. fyi, it turns out safari incognito mode and battery save mode caps at 30fps!

there is nothing more "dangerous" than a Designer who can code, is articulate, and understands the business!

we are becoming more of a “operator” than “creators” in the age of ai as designers the balance? is up to us based on the project's needs, and i love that optionality!

designers, always get paid upfront! . . . . if the client is not willing to, they either don’t have the money, yet, then stay away. or they do not “trust” you, then solve that with your offer, your attitude, your portfolio, your presence, your schedule, your … . unless you are doing a free work and yes, that’s okay.

things are taking an interesting, controversial turn when designers with ai are able to do developers job better than most developers care to do

love the current age of designers going for; "I wasn't happy with how _________ looked and worked, so I built my own." ✿ what is your ___? music player? design software? todo app? let's get some eyes on it and inspire others.

we used to say "spent way too many hours on this little animation, time well spent : ) " now we say; "spent a few minutes animating my logo this morning, tokens well spent =)"

i spent the whole day building a custom design software for a client using @claudeai i'm creating an ai-first design system for their design, product and engineering teams. figma has been too limiting and they don't have access to any other design software. what a time to be a designer! - and no, i can not share the app, under strict nda.

so, have we all replaced the excitement of downloading/trying a new design-software with switching/trying to a new ai-model to design?
