I plunge people into darkness, take them far from the familiar safety of home, make spots move before their eyes, and show them how utterly insignificant they are. They might feel like throwing up.
I've got another invite to the blue place, if any of my mutuals* wants one.
* No, you can't just follow me and expect one, if we've never met before.

I have ten bluesky invite codes up for offer to women, gender diverse folk, people of colour and disabled folk who work on solving climate change (from any perspective), energy, ecology or the environment.
It's a good place, and getting better over time.
Seen on Bluesky, re ASCII art and screen readers.

Well, last night gave me about 10 minutes of clear sky - enough for a few phone pics of the centre of our galaxy.
Off on a road trip for 5 days, and I'm taking eight cameras, not counting the phone. Wonder how many of them will see action.
Also: two tripods, binoculars, and a small telescope.
Be nice if I feel motivated enough to use all the gear.

First time I've photographed ISS in ages. Was shooting with camera and phone, and missed part of the transit trying to get the camera to start a series of exposures. This is seven 10-second exposures with the phone. Passing just above the Southern Cross before fading into shadow.
Just sitting with a late after-lunch cuppa, and felt the need to take a photo or two.
30 years ago, I'd have said I was going for a grade 4 result, but I guess that doesn't mean anything to most folk, these days.

Look at those gigantic steel arches! The #ELT dome is taking shape, giving us a glimpse of how big the #BiggestEyeOnTheSky will be! 😮
If you look closely, you can see the construction workers 👷

ALT This image appears to be taken from the viewpoint of someone sitting on one side of the dome, under a vibrant blue sky. All around are the dark steel structures of the dome with two big arches, on the left and one at the centre. Further down is the concrete circular structure of the base. Here and there, cranes peep out.
