Tokyo Marui Festival 2026 was on this weekend, coinciding with the opening of the World of Biohazard 30th anniversary exhibition. They had Kendo's Gun Shop, all the Resident Evil airsoft guns and a shooting range where you could take aim at the cook from Requiem. #Marufes #WorldOfBiohazard

Much has changed since the last big Shibuya Halloween in 2022. The crowds were massive and there was a real street party atmosphere. I remember news of the Itaewon crush disaster breaking as I headed home that night. It was the final straw for the mayor to shut down Halloween celebrations in Shibuya ward.

In 2026 the streets of Shibuya are covered in 'Goodbye Bad Halloween' signage. No drinking, no obstruction, no littering, no smoking. It's telling that the signs are in english. Ikebukuro is the new home of Tokyo Halloween as it welcomes public cosplay at any time of year.

Even if you can't get tickets for #WorldOfBiohazard, you can stop by Dipper Dan's at Shibuya Beam for Resident Evil inspired crepes & drinks. Ada's fruit tea paired well with Leon's blueberry & tiramisu crepe, which came with a pipette of coffee sauce.

There was tons of new Resident Evil merch in the #WorldOfBiohazard 30th anniversary exhibition shop, including some stuff not listed on the website (like the Stay Sharp and Parry On tote bag). I bought as much as I could fit in my inventory.

If you do visit the #WorldOfBiohazard exhibition, keep an eye out for Easter eggs! There are hidden Mr. Raccoons throughout and a familiar STARS photo can be seen in an open drawer.
