Much of the backlash against EU vehicle regulations was based on the assumption that the industry knows better what would realistically happen re: EVs. Turns out it didn't.
"German auto industry is being swept up in the electric vehicle wave. At VW, demand for electric cars has reached a level the company had not expected until 2029 (!) Mercedes, too, anticipates higher-than-expected sales of electric cars; its models are sold out for this year"

A stunner could be brewing in South Carolina, where the needle gives Annie Andrews a narrow edge. It's still early, but she's running ahead of our estimates for early, absentee and election day votes. nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

Amazing chart from Adam Farrar of Bloomberg @economics. Assuming the Binance hack was done by the North Koreans, as alleged by @trmlabs, then the country just captured 75% of its total 2025 revenue in the span of just 20 minutes

#miosga #AmpelAus

I think the student loan obsession of the activist base was probably the most destructive thing I've ever seen. It's an issue that just completely alienated those without college degrees and the legal inability to get anything done antagonized the left activists pushing it.
And inventing words like LatinX that no one in the history of the world has ever used.

It's not at all clear this is the case. It's more likely that there was simply no way to take the economic L from COVID that the public would have accepted because the fundamental public demand is no economic Ls, ever, for any reason
Economists are going to have to reckon with the fact that the public would have preferred a slower recovery with much higher unemployment, as long as prices had been stable.
