ALT A road map of southern Ontario, with a data collection route highlighted in 3 different colours, representing where and when the data collectors will be in an area. ------- Additional info: We're investigating how to handle double cropping systems (2 different crops harvested in 1 season) in our classification system. We want to find examples of this practice so that we can see if we are able to extract this type of field usage from our satellite images and add it to our final maps. We will collect observations next week, recording the crop types growing in the fields. Then in September we will repeat this trip and ideally we'll capture some fields that differ from what was observed in June. For example a field that had winter barley on it in June which then has soybeans growing in the fall. Unfortunately we currently only conduct a single field observation so we have never been able to try to map this type of practice.
