URGENT APPEAL & INTERVENTION
Mumbai to Thane is the original line of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway (GIPR), the first commercial passenger stretch in the country.
A part of the old Sion station (midway between Mumbai-Thane) with GIPR brackets is currently being dismantled for line expansion.
An appeal to save some of the old brackets for the local heritage gallery or the national musuem..
These relics are the last few central pieces of India's railway history, the first and original line of Indian railways. @RailMinIndia @mumbaiheritage
