Back on stage, running my favorite session: Guess the Winner 🏆 This time at @AppGrowthSummit Barcelona 🇪🇸 last week. Real paywall experiments from @Superwall customers, and the audience had to guess which variant won. Huge thanks to the customers who let me share their tests. No data, no game 🙏

📣 Introducing Customer Center 📣 It's just a super duper easy way to handle life's little rough edges when it comes to subscription apps. We all get the common questions: - How do I change plans? - Cancel? Get a refund? - The list goes on... Handle all of them easily, and it works out of the box.

Cheaper subscription plans renew better. But per subscriber, do they earn more? 👀 I pulled renewal data for thousands of Android subs on @Superwall. Weekly, monthly and yearly plans, US and EU. Then I calculated revenue per 100 paying subscribers for every price. What I found: 👉 Weekly: $6.99 is the best price on Android. On iOS it was only the runner-up. The cheapest, $2.99, lands mid-pack. 👉 Monthly: $1.99 keeps 5x more subscribers than $9.99 after a year. But per subscriber, $14.99 earns 3x more than $1.99 in Year 1. 👉 Yearly: every step up the price ladder earned more per subscriber. $89.99 renews worst and still brings in the most after the first renewal. The catch: this is per paying subscriber, not per paywall visitor. Higher prices usually convert fewer people. So don't pick your price from a chart. Test it. Full breakdown with all the charts in the reply 👇

📊 First data on what works on Apple's native cancel screen I pulled 73,000 cancel attempts across 30 iOS apps on @Superwall. What I found: 👉 The typical app saves 13 to 21% of people about to cancel 👉 A plain text message (20.7%) beats a promo offer (17.7%) 👉 Switch-plan saves the fewest (12.9%) 👉 Weekly subscribers are the hardest to keep Which text works? 👉 Naming exactly what people lose wins by far. "Your scans, your library, your data." Something the user built. A generic "You'll lose access to the app" saves only 6%. "New content every week" saved 7% Full breakdown with all the numbers: superwall.com/blog/apple-ret…

Everyone assumes higher price = lower renewal. I've checked thousands of iOS subscriptions to see if that's actually true. 👀 A few things that stood out: - $6.99/week renews noticeably better than $7.99, even though they're a dollar apart. And more surprisingly also a lot better than both $4.99 and $5.99 - On monthly plans, cheaper really does mean stickier, that's the one place the "obvious" rule actually held - In yearly plans, several neighbouring prices land on a very similar Year 1 renewal rate, so bumping the price doesn't always mean losing renewal. thepaywallindex.substack.com…

At Mojo (yc w18), we were spending up to $1M a month on ads. More ads didn’t mean more winners. So @clem_de_ligny and I built Hyperscale: a self-driving team of AI agents for mobile app video ads. It studies the best subscription apps in real time and already knows your world when you connect. It predicts what to test next, makes the ad, launches the test, and learns from real spend. Use it yourself, or let us run it for you. Hyperscale is live today. If your app is doing $500k+/month in revenue and creative is still the bottleneck, I want to work with you directly this week. We get paid on performance.

🚨 I rebuilt imessage/discord, but only for app founders introducing ChatMRR – the verified revenue community where you can only join groups based on your MRR → connect @Superwall or RevenueCat → join chats w/ revenue minimums → unlock new chats as your revenue grows → daily leaderboards & awards limited spots → mrr.chat

Wanted to build this since I joined @Superwall . I get to see paywall and monetisation data across thousands of apps, not just one. I love digging into it, finding patterns, chasing a weird result until it makes sense. So I started a newsletter: The Paywall Index.

Giving away our secrets for free. This discounting strategy increased customer ARPU by over 8% and added more than $177k/year in new revenue. Thanks to @nickgdwn for the experiment.
