Just moving a Coelogyne, ready for a quick spray and came across a newt. Normally nocturnal, they thrive in cool, damp places. They love to hide in dense garden vegetation, rotting wood, and potted plants, like the orchid pseudobulbs it is resting on here to keep from drying out!

Our Stanhopea nigroviolacea is starting to open so I managed to position it in our plum tree between the thunderstorms today to get a video of the large flowers. There’s plenty more to come but probably won’t be open together.

A great weekend at Harlow Carr orchid show. Sadly though at the end of the show during pack-up, David Gregory lost his Vanda falcata pictured here in the car park. I wanted to just send out this message incase anybody came across the plant I would appreciate it if you can help!

Cuitlauzina pendular, registered by LaLave & Lex in 1825. This pendulous species from Mexico has been grown by Mike Armstrong, a cool growing orchid, if you can grow Odontoglossums you will have success wth this species.
