Poison ivy causes allergic contact dermatitis in approximately 85% of humans who encounter it. It spreads with extraordinary efficiency along field edges, roadsides, and disturbed ground. Chemical control requires repeated application. Mechanical removal needs full protective gear and specialist disposal: the dead plant stays irritant for years. The goat is immune. Completely. Goats lack the immune sensitivity to urushiol that makes poison ivy dangerous to humans. The goat eats it efficiently, repeatedly, without distress, and with visible enthusiasm given that it considers poison ivy a perfectly adequate lunch. In the United States, there is an established rental market for goat herds contracted specifically to clear poison ivy from properties, parks, and conservation sites. The goats arrive. The goats eat. The goats move on. No chemicals. No protective suits. No specialist disposal. The goat is also immune to poison oak and poison sumac: the entire urushiol-producing plant family. The goat was never bothered. Not once.

75% of the wartime workforce @bletchleypark were women! A contingent of MI6 women worked in the Mansion as messengers, teleprinter operators, translators, coders, typists & explosive assistants! You can read their story in my debut book #HerSecretService - The Forgotten Women of British Intelligence OUT NOW #Herstory #spyhistory

On the 80th anniversary of her death, #MI6 remembers Noor Inayat Khan, the first female wireless operator sent into occupied France by the UK’s Special Operations Executive. Noor was courage personified, and we shall always be in awe of her extraordinary service and bravery. #SOE
