Wait…you mean to tell me that we told an entire generation of young people that reality was optional, truth was relative, morality was subjective, and if it feels good do it…and its not working out for society? Shocking.

In 10 years in the General Assembly I regularly voted against the state budget on final passage. I was repeatedly told by fellow Republicans that if I did this my constituents would slam me for voting against teachers, medical care, education etc. But when I was asked by constituents why I voted against the budget it was always a fairly simple answer. We are spending to much, taking on too many long term requirements that will require additional taxes and funding a host of things which are simply not legitimate functions of government. You know what the typical response was from those who asked?" "Oh...thank you, that makes sense." The problem is too many Republicans don't want to bother explaining a difficult vote, so they let left wing media decide what the "smart move" is and just go with the flow. The result is they become complicit in the very problems they claim to be trying to solve.
