When they saw the star, they jumped for joy.

My #AARSBL25 paper 2 had a full room at 8:30am on the final morning of this year’s American Academy of Religion. Grateful for a lively and engaging Q&A, supportive colleagues and many guests and new friends.
most importantly, highly influential—all the way to being entirely present in highest political office in the United States. The rags-to-riches myth—based on a misinterpretation of, for instance, Horatio Alger’s novels—
Thank you to the Reverend Dr. Sarah Jobe for her field-making ethnography on prisons and prison chaplaincy and to Ryan Schellenberg and friends at @ChaplainLab for gathering such an incredibly talented panel, with Drs. Jerusha Neal, Shelly Rambo & Jason Evans #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25
Jobe’s new book is the first-ever peer-reviewed ethnographic publication on and from within prisons. Find your copy here: lnkd.in/ebq4ScPH
