My views are drawn from looking at what the people the health system serves need, based on the capabilities, limitations, and “evolvability” of my profession, and total respect for other healthcare professionals. In that order 🟢

Memories plenty gan. 😂😂 On the 16th March, 2026, when the University added my picture to that Maya's quote, and posted on all their socials, people were tagging me happily. 😂😂 Only Ola, Sanusi, Bilal, some SU Excos and a few others knew what that moment later did to me. 😭 I spoke the students' hearts unfiltered in front of the VC (at His Honour’s Interaction with the Student Leaders, during the 50th Anniversary programmes, on the 25th November, 2025), and amongst other “senistive” things I said, I concluded that: “A school founded by the Federal Government should not be funded by the students.” ...before the microphone was collected from me. 😂 The auditorium almost scattered; students were very happy. But the backlashes of free speech, I faced them alone... throughout my presidential tenure. Whenever I had to do anything as the President, I was held to the same strict standards I demanded from them that day. 😹😹 Cancelled programmes. Rejected proposals and requests. Strict question and accountability. [And tbh, many of them were justifiable: based on the metrics I created.😭😂] But, I also learnt new lessons from them. Alhamdulillah today, in character and in learning, it's bye-bye for now. 😎❤️ I was a very stubborn student through and through — I wasn't called “Leader Awọn Ọmọ Lile Pharmacy” for no reason. IT'S NOT BYE-BYE, BUT SEE YOU AGAIN. 👋
At the University of Ilorin, you'll learn character by force; it's not optional or bargainable.

A. Patient counselling and education A few weeks ago, I spoke with my extern about confidence during patient counselling and how to control the entire consultation without making the patient feel controlled. I have always maintained that a crucial skill in Community Pharmacy is making patients feel heard and guided rather than argued with or dismissed, while the pharmacist still determines what should and shouldn’t happen. For the first few weeks, he struggled, and I continued to be hard on him.😅 A few days before he left, I stood beside him and watched him talk (not even counsel) to a patient, replicating almost everything I had taught him. I was impressed. 😅 To be honest, this is the third time I have felt this proud of someone’s professional development. A close second is C. Clinical interventions and therapeutic recommendations

I had a patient who came in for a cream. One day, I noticed him and asked, “What do you use it for?” “Eczema,” he replied. I responded “Oh, okay.” However, knowing how many people casually label different skin conditions as eczema, I asked if I could assess him. He obliged. On assessment, I saw the most extensive fungal skin infection I had ever encountered. I then told him, “Oh, this is not the right management,” and explained how repeated inappropriate use of the cream could mask or modify the condition’s presentations. That was when he decided to show me that he had obtained his healthcare licence from Harvard University and started correcting me. The “now” me would probably have left him to go and sit down, but I was very passionate about clinical practice then, so I still tried to educate him a little. He insisted that whenever he applied the cream, the condition improved, so he trusted it. I advised him other showing the clinical and quantity limitations. He eventually asked how much the medications required for proper treatment would cost. I told him. He squeezed his face and proceeded to do what a typical patient coming to a CP would do. “Help me write down the names of the medications. I will come back later.” I told him, “No, I don’t do that.”
“I have eczema” You will check and see s/sx that strongly point at a fungal infection. The sad thing is that they will not agree 😂😂

It was about speaking up against an institutional culture where healthcare workers are sometimes humiliated, intimidated or treated as though they have no dignity. We can disagree professionally, correct one another and maintain clear professional boundaries without

facilities. My video struck a nerve, travelled far beyond what many expected, and generated several calls. The State NANNM leadership swiftly intervened, and the consultant subsequently apologised. For me, this was never about dragging doctors or creating professional rivalry.

Now that the dust has settled, let me speak. I did not want it to become a DRs versus NRs fight. However, this is what happened. At FUTH Lafia, an O&G consultant sent a male intern nurse out of the labour ward, stating that he did not
“A woman will be in labour, and male nurses will be prevented from entering the ward. Why?” — Male Nigerian nurse questions the practice. He also questioned why male nurses are trained and equipped with the same professional knowledge but are still denied access to certain wards because of their gender.

I knew I wouldn’t like pharmacology throughout pharmacy school when I spoke with my uncle about the “cramming” that is required He told me one thing “do you want to discover a new mechanism for paracetamol, go and cram it” I locked up straight 😂 That is why Pharm Chem was my best course then, at least I get to think to an extent 😅 I get to reason from underlying principles rather than simply retain established facts.

Yes, it is a recognized regimen for CAP, especially in an empirical setting. In addition though, it can be used for other conditions so far the rules of antibiotic selection are followed. The baseline being that: - the indication requires a combination that provides typical+atypical bacteria coverage - the bacteria involved are susceptible to either, and - they can achieve adequate drug concentrations at the site of infection.
4 and 5 are the usual combination therapy for CAP... ahbi nah?🤔🤔🤔
