a lot of people who are not steve jobs very certain about what steve jobs would do
I’m sorry but this is the most stupid thing apple has ever done. I am the biggest apple fan, but this makes absolutely no sense. Steve Jobs would have fired everyone on the team before this would have happened.

talking about oppenheimer
A movie is dull and one moves on; but I saw one so arrantly, actively bad (every aspect, from images to script, from performances back to the basic idea, misjudged, inflated, ponderous, vague, banal), that it besmirches the cinema itself, makes the tools and the very format of...

It's not a must and agent produces that don't do it are showing more discerning product sense.
Adding an agent to group chats is becoming a basic feature that is a must for any AI agent In the past week we've seen Wabi, Tomo Community and now Instinct Group Chats - lots of innovation continuing to rise in this multi-player space However, I'm still not convinced that simply adding an agent to a group chat solves the gap (though it is absolutely a necessary step) What concerns me: 1/ everyone has a different taste for agents. how verbose they may be, their tone, their level of noise - these are all factors that can lead to different perceived experiences in the same chat the beauty of having your own agent is that it is tailored to YOU so the question becomes, how does an agent determine who to most cater to? 2/ the vibes of a group chat inherently change when a 3rd party is added, it becomes more of a transactional group chat rather than social (imo) i can see a solid use case for an active agent in a group chat when it comes to planning or serving a very specific purpose but i'm not sure i'd want an agent in my general group chats Super pumped to continue seeing teams sprint and ship at lightning speed, letting little ole consumers like me play around, have fun, and opine on the most electric space in consumer tech

who is the best product company of all time?
takes on instinct @ 30B bull: consumer agents are primarily a product, meaning its possible for any company to win with suboptimal models. its all about distribution and momentum bear: instinct is competing against both the best product company of all time and the best model company of all time bear: monetizing will be much easier for meta given they have the distribution network for ads and ecommerce

it's not about whether anyone investing thinks instinct has this value it's about deployment pressure and finding companies that can absorb it (see wework)
Replying to @mil000
there is no world where they are worth $30B lol

It's a terrible demo
I've been putting my agents in groups chats for the last 7 months. An immediate lesson was that no messaging apps are designed with agents in mind. Also it immediately changes the vibes. And I was surprised to find it was often for the worse it's a great demo but I don't think it's the right version of the future to aspire to

if you have a target in mind, you should write an email to that person and then ask the investor to forward it
I really dislike it when my investors ask me to "send a blurb". 1- You invested in my company. You should already know what I'm building. 2- You and I both know that generic blurbs never work. What works is a hand-crafted message from a warm contact (i.e. you, the investor). 3- On top of that, asking for a blurb is lazy. It throws the work back on me (the founder) at precisely the moment when I'm asking for support. If you REALLY wanted to be helpful, you would write the intro yourself + ask for my edits/approval. Just sayin'

lol so the thinking is "i have a full-time job and for some extra cash i'll run a smash repair shop" ?
If you work a W2 job and don't have a boring business that pays you $5k-$10k a month on top of your salary... I got you. Here are 9 boring businesses for sale today (& where to buy them):
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The "cash flow" figures are Seller's Discretionary Earnings (SDE) including seller compensation for running the business; these service businesses are not passive side income atop a W2 salary and require active management or added costs that reduce net returns. bizbuysell.com/learning-cente… acquidex.com/blog/take-home… bigideasdb.com/passive-busine… duedilio.com/absentee-owner…

vcs just want to be handheld through everything
pitch follow-ups should always be "hey we just signed this customer / increased revenue / shipped this feature" and never "wondering if you had more time to think about the investment"

i mean yeah if you're walking up/down hudson, bleecker, 7th, it's busy. no surprise there.
When I moved here in 2013 the west village was for 90 year olds, celebrities, and fifth generation New Yorkers. It was super quiet and was the perfect place to get totally blazed and walk around alone feeling like you were in some gas lamp lit 1800s spooky New York. I’ll never forgive people for making it influencer line culture hell.

I think "losing" this one doesn't mean they weren't right
No, you've got it backwards. The human psyche finds it far more comfortable to perceive AI as "humanized", and within a few years the empirical evidence will leave no doubt. Especially once Microsoft stops bankrolling its "AI psychosis" nonsense. Everyone betting on the opposite side is going to lose this one. #StopAIPaternalism

hiring for a role atm and every candidate on the take home has come back proposing the exact same feature and near identical decks.
there's a good chance a big reason for overwhelming VC consensus is that every VC is using the same AI for their due diligence. hard to be non-consensus if the everyone asks the same models to help evaluate the same startups.

i don't think it's "short form video" or "2-3 minute dramas". it's ugc.
People are losing the attention span to even watch 30 minute TV shows as short form video eats the world.

"I stay quiet on this stuff because bag holders will threaten me" Profiles in courage
This project was always a scam if you took more than 5 minutes to look into it. I stay quiet on this stuff because bag holders will threaten me if I call it out but it was a clone of 0xBow with fake VB ties I suggest using a Claude code session to vet any project before you buy

a "mining" guy couldn't figure it out?
For the past few days I've been at this place wondering how the crane operator gets into the cabin so today I had to sit and wait for them to knock off. I couldn’t believe my eyes. 😭
