Israelis, particularly those consuming their right wing media ecosystem, don't seem to understand or care that there are real costs coming with Netanyahu's colossal mismanagement of the relationship with America.

Saw my oldest friend and her whole family last night for a too-short visit. Her parents are both in their 90s, mine nearly 97, and as we compare notes she told me this saying: every old person needs ten children.

Yes, those Israelis protesting at the Gaza border are sick and openly genocidal. Their actions and rhetoric deserve the strongest possible condemnation. But calling Israeli society “the most genocidal society on earth” is a disgusting act of collective dehumanization. You can’t dehumanize an entire population for the actions of a group—we, as Palestinians, know exactly what that feels like. After October 7th, the world rushed to dehumanize all of us because of the actions of a few. No society is immune to extremism. But Israeli society is also home to people who take to the streets day after day, holding photos of Gaza’s dead children and demanding an end to the war. Even at the Gaza border yesterday, there were Israelis who showed up to confront those extremist demonstrators. Blanket vilification is lazy, dangerous, and no different from the hatred and racism inflicted on Palestinians. We should reject collective demonization no matter who the target is. Enough. Stop it.
Most genocidal society on earth.

Dehumanization of Palestinians in Israel started way before October 7. As dehumanization of Israelis by Arabs started long time ago. The internet gives us incredible tool to change it, to learn about each other, to see the other side’s pain and ambitions. But alas, it only increases the hate. 😞😞😞

Worth repeating every so often: One state, two states, 20 states with a cherry on top… I don’t care. Freedom, dignity, and security for every person between the river and the sea. That’s what’s sacred. The mechanism to get there is not.

Let me say it: the settlers rampaging through the West Bank right now, and the people in the government who support them, are a bigger threat to Israel and its future than Iran ever was.

I am seeing a lot of posts about Briahna Joy Gray, Aaron Mate, Ryan Grim and their horrific denial of mass rape on 10/7. I want to be really clear. It happened. I saw photos of the bodies. I was privileged to be invited to a private briefing at the Israeli embassy and shown photos that are not open to the public for privacy reasons. What I saw will haunt me to my dying day. I met with members of the Dinah Project. They are honorable, righteous, and true. There is ample evidence. There are eyewitnesses including 10/7 survivors, medics and legal experts who have seen the videos and photos. There are now living survivors coming forward. Most of the public doesn’t understand, we are talking about extreme and very particular types of sexual violence - including genital mutilation, gang rape, and rape as murder - happened simultaneously in multiple locations. That’s not coincidental - that’s coordinated. What deniers demand as evidence is not consistent with western modern rape law. The standard they are asking for is ever shifting, but would never be demanded in a court of law. Video of rape and murder? A woman who is raped and murdered cannot get justice if she is not alive to testify? Your hatred of Israeli women is so strong it endangers every woman in the world. The fight to recognize the horrors of rape in 10/7 is critical to global justice. It’s a fight for all women. Deniers are no different than holocaust deniers and should be treated with the same contempt.

Yes, I blame the voters. There was no good faith reason to vote for Trump. No good faith reason to vote third party. No good faith reason to not vote at all. If you did anything other than vote for Kamala Harris in 2024, this shit is on you.
Replying to @atrupar
Kamala Harris: It will probably be the most important vote you ever cast. This election is more than just a choice between two parties and two different candidates. It is a choice about whether we have a country rooted in freedom for every American, or ruled by chaos and division

Yesterday was February 25. 32 years ago an Israeli doctor entered the Ibrahimi mosque and murdered 29 innocent people. In the very place where Muslims honor Abraham. What makes a person kill a human being? I do not know. This event is engraved in our memory just as the 1929 massacre is engraved in the memory of the Jews. This city has seen blood, the time has come for an olive branch. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

i just returned home from my surgery in minneapolis. am a tad high, which always makes me want to pour my heart out. i want to say about 60% of people who helped me today were either 1st or 2nd generation african immigrants. some, not all, of somali descent. all so kind to me. all so good at their jobs. one young nurse listened very carefully to my concerns over how another nurse had placed my iv. he was so reassuring about my right to ask the questions and agreed w/ me about something being iffy. he asked two other nurses to confirm. they redid the iv. i am so pained when i think of what good people like this--kind people, responsible people, people who are skilled at their jobs--have to experience in terms of racism & anti-immigrant sentiment. i am very pained. i also feel so grateful to live in a diverse society. a place where people can come from all over the world and one day share the same nationality as me; the same nationality as others from so many different places. it is such a unique thing; anyone can be an american. not just as a nationality, but as a shared identity. the identity of our nationality itself is so bound to our diversity. we have a long road to travel; many battles to be fought. but i think one small step is to be more intentional, whenever we have the opportunity to do so, in our appreciation of this side of what it means to be american. we have to keep fighting for the best of who we are; of who we can be.

an account that seemed cool as hell until they retweeted some bullshit about Gaza I'm not mad about that as much as I am about how the next generations will have to struggle with levels of anti-Semitism as high as it was before 1939, and there's very little we can do about that

All of our candidates are good. Hillary was good, Joe was good, Kamala was good, and the next candidate will be good. The problem is yall want a perfect candidate, not a good one. And you’re weirdly comfortable with throwing vulnerable people under the bus if you don’t get one.
OK but genuinely why don't the dems just get a good candidate

Israel has nothing to do with the conduct of ICE. Leftists who spent the 2024 election protesting Harris instead of Trump helped ICE do what it is doing today. Instead of having some humility about their failures, they incite hatred and make it annoying for anyone passing through
🚨NEW: @Columbia students and faculty have blocked the road on Broadway and 116th in a joint anti-ICE/Israel protest and have been arrested. Chants included “From the river to the sea.”

You can call out the occupation, genocide, and violations of international law without embracing Hamas. This isn’t bothsideism, mostly because the Israeli government and Hamas are on the same side.

Does anyone else look around at the cruelty and outright evil being done to people across this country every single day and feel pure rage at the backstabbers and weak-kneed allies who helped get us here in 2024? I have nothing but contempt for them.

the white far left learned the egregious slur that "Black people are stupid and don't deserve even the little power that they have" from their white supremacist families and just renamed it "low-information voter" because lefty racism never fails to be subversive & insidious
