Gerçekten güzel şeyler habersiz gelir. En değerli anlar da öyle. Sen başka dertteyken oluverir. Zaten yıllar sonra gülümseyerek hatırladığın şeylerin çoğu, o gün hiç hesapta yoktu.

This paragraph by Richard Feynman hits so hard: “Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don’t think about what you want to be, but what you want to do. Keep up some kind of a minimum with other things so that society doesn’t stop you from doing anything at all.”

One day when I was still very young, I asked my father about his parents. I knew my maternal grandparents intimately, but I wanted to know why I had never met his parents. “Because they died,” he said wistfully. “Will you ever see them again?” I asked. He considered his answer carefully. Finally, he said that there was nothing he would like more in the world than to see his mother and father again, but that he had no reason — and no evidence — to support the idea of an afterlife, so he couldn’t give in to the temptation. “Why?” Then he told me, very tenderly, that it can be dangerous to believe things just because you want them to be true. You can get tricked if you don’t question yourself and others, especially people in a position of authority. He told me that anything that’s truly real can stand up to scrutiny. — Sasha Sagan; Lessons of Immortality and Mortality From My Father Carl Sagan

We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026). arkolith.com/news/news-micr… therepublic.com/?p=843020 governor.ny.gov/news/safer-str…

Milliyetçileri ciddiye almayın. Onlar Orta Asyanın ekonomik kaynaklarını ister, askeri güç ister, ideolojik tatmin isterler. Kardeş değil yönetilecek yeni topraklar isterler. Kafalarındaki Turan fikri Türkiye'ye ilhak olmuş bir Orta Asya'dır. Eşit bir birliktelik değil.

Dear Turks, this is the root of the problem. Imagine living in KZ hearing "Turk" only for Turkey/Göktürks, and a guy from Konya tells you that you're "Kazakh Turks" and the same people as Anatolian Turks. We share language and history, but we aren't one. Still, no reason to fight

Amazing essay “On Girls” by a 19th century schoolboy, picked out by Mark Twain as the funniest (genuine) boy’s composition he has ever seen. “they always now their lessons bettern boys” … just incredible

hear me out: given the increasing value of real-world skills, activities, and relationships, and the decreasing ability of material goods to produce fulfillment, money itself is going to become less valuable, because the things it can buy are going to becomes less valuable

🇰🇿🇺🇿🇰🇬🇦🇿🇹🇲 Don’t worry about our future. We will be just fine. Our region has one of the youngest and most dynamic populations in the world. Uzbekistan has one of the highest fertility rates among Turkic nations, and soon they will be the largest Turkic nation. We have a young, ambitious, and increasingly educated generation. The economies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan are growing. We have vast territories, abundant natural resources, brotherly nations, and neighbours with highly developed industrial and technological economies from which we can learn and with which we can build mutually beneficial partnerships. We don’t live in the past. We look towards the future. We might have experienced centuries of colonial rule, but that does not define who we are or determine where we are going. History cannot hold us hostage. Our future will be shaped not by yesterday’s circumstances, but by the decisions we make today. We know where we came from. More importantly, we know where we want to go.

Turkish brothers! Please don’t call us the “Turkistan region.” We are Central Asia, which also includes Tajikistan 🇹🇯. We have strong historical and cultural ties with our Tajik brothers, and we respect their identity, independence, and sovereignty. We don’t impose Pan-Turkism on them, nor do we expect them to identify with it. Our Turkic identity and our Central Asian identity coexist. We can celebrate our shared Turkic heritage while respecting the diversity of our entire region. Also, Turkistan is a city in our country!
Yes, I hope Turkistan will be more developed and stronger ın the future.
