Trans Day of Visibility came and went, and once again, the silence was louder than any “allyship” people love to post about when it’s convenient. The reality is, the support from directors, studios, and even fellow performers was minimal at best—almost performative when it did show up. For an industry that profits off trans bodies, trans aesthetics, and trans narratives, the lack of acknowledgment feels intentional. Visibility shouldn’t just exist when it’s profitable or trending; it should exist when it matters. What’s frustrating is how quickly people will collaborate, capitalize, and benefit from trans performers—but when it comes to actually standing beside us, amplifying our voices, or even making a simple post of support, suddenly it’s crickets. It exposes a deeper issue: a lot of this “support” is conditional, surface-level, and rooted in convenience rather than real respect. Trans Day of Visibility isn’t just about being seen—it’s about being valued, protected, and supported consistently. And right now, that consistency is missing.
