WEAR A FUCKING MASK. COVER YOUR TATTOOS. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE. DO NOT DISCUSS PROTESTS/ACTIONS ON UNENCRYPTED MESSAGES.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: when it comes to disability access and support, I'd rather a hundred people be able to game a lax system than a single disabled person be denied what they need by a gatekept system.

In March 2020, there were ~30,000 new cases of Covid per day which triggered public shutdowns and stimulus checks to help people stay at home.
On Jan. 18 2022 there were 1.1 MILLION new cases and schools, workplaces, and restaurants are open as if Covid never existed.

This is SUCH a helpful article about how to deal with omicron rn. It has a lot of info that isn't being spread very widely rn. Please share and tell everyone you know bc the government really isn't making sure we know what's safe.
With Omicron surging, is it still safe to fly, dine out or attend large indoor events? UC Davis virus expert Dr. Jonathan Eisen weighs in on this "horribly contagious" new variant and how to navigate the next month or so: bit.ly/3sHkEKl

This Monday, Dec 6th at 5:30 pm sharp, tell the City of Tacoma not to reinstate its camping ban and start doing sweeps in the dead of winter. We need as many people as possible to join the call at that point and participate in the city's poll on the camping ban.

Personally not a fan of using disabled students as a reason why staff shouldn't strike. University staff can't support us if they have bad working conditions. If striking is the only way to change this then they must do it.
Replying to @LeedsUniUnion
Those most affected by the strikes will be our marginalised students, specifically our disabled, international and working class students. This added burden on our members is something that we want to avoid at all costs.

I'm really disappointed with the number of trans academics who I've reached out to about making their content accessible who have completely ignored me. How can you talk about wanting to make things better for trans students and then ignore someone who is asking for accessibility
